We went over to the town park several times and enjoyed the fire pit (calling to check the local fire safety status was new to me but understandable, especially given the amount of wildfires in MN/Canada).It is definitely quieter on the north side of the island which was just right for us. "We had an amazing family vacation staying at the Sunset Bay Lodge. The beach and dock area was a highlight for our group. We spent plenty of time hanging out at the water; sunning, playing and fires. The paddle boards and Kayaks were a VERY nice inclusion. The hunt for sea glass was a constant adventure. The house was very spacious and accommodating for large groups. The extended dining table is great for everyone to eat together. There are plenty of cups, plates and silverware. The massive fridge and freezer were perfect for our large group. The house boasts plenty of room to hangout indoors on those rainy days. We were thankful for the pile of wood the owners supplied for the outdoor fire pits. That is a very nice inclusion. One item to note is that guests are responsible for removal and disposal of their own garbage via the town recycling center just down the road. The center is only open certain days, so plan accordingly. The cost is 5 per small white garbage bag and 10 per large black bag. Thankfully we brought a few large black bags as we were able to fit 4-5 white bags in each black bag:)We will definitely consider staying at the Sunset Bay Lodge in the future. "

"Rented this trailer for a girls weekend. Very clean and budget friendly. It's on the quieter side of the island, which was great for us. The beach is across the street. I must have missed that in the description, but it was a great quiet beach and not a problem once we checked in. "
