The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. There are great restaurants in the town. The only downside was our room wasn’t cleaned for 3 days, even after complaining. There was NOT a “do not disturb” sign on the door!

The property is beautiful, the service is hit or miss though. Some of the staff especially at the restaurant specifically the restaurant manager is very service oriented and helpful. He goes out of his way to make sure the customers are happy. The front desk staff not very friendly or helpful especially the ones staffing the reception in the evening. Bar staff not friendly at all and borderline rude.

Stunning property in the middle of beautiful Charlevoix region. Beautiful room, lovely terrasse and splendid dinner at Saint Laurent restaurant. Food, service, wine all exactly as expected at a Fairmont Hotel. Evening Staff at Bar La Brise were at best uninterested, in a hurry to leave and would not even be bothered to acknowledge when we sat down. Not at all in line with the afternoon bar staff. Car valet did not help with anything: only their manager did and he was most helpful. Otherwise loved our stay and highly recommend.

Staff was awseome . Dinner menu are limited and not worth the price they charge . Free parking is limited as it is shared with casino players that do not reside at the hotel. Valet parking is 45$ when there is no free parking available .Rooms are outdated , lack of proper heating and water pressure in the showers. 500 $ / night then you have crazy amount of taxe plus a 40$ resort experience feewich is way overated . Total with taxes per night 630$ ... absolutely not worth it

Beautiful location but not worth the splurge if this is a special occasion. Visited for our honeymoon and barely got a congratulations from the front desk staff. Made it clear at time of booking this was our honeymoon, and nothing. Requested an outdoor table at the restaurant, they sat walk ups before my reservation and had no outdoor space. Very disappointed with this property. The only friendly staff are the valets and they are incredible. Don’t bother spending hard earned money on a special once in a lifetime occasion if you’re expecting to be treated like it’s that special occasion, they just don’t care.

This property is stunning!! The pictures don't capture the beaty of the are at all. The hotel is beautifully maintained and very clean. The room was large and comfotable, the pool are is world class, and it has an incredible steps away. The golf course was way better than expected. Great condtion and fun to play with stunning views. The only two issues were that the Point Cardinal (golf shop/restaurant) has a terrrible smell (sewer) so not appetizing to stay for a meal, and the starter (can remember his name) seemed very disorganized, uninterested and unfriendly. I will definetely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to all!

The pros is the amenities, the views, and the proximity to trails which are fantastic. The nightly entertainment is great and the ability to roast marshmallows on the fire was fun. The pools are fantastic. The cons: the service was definitely sub-par for a 5 star hotel. This seems to be due to difficulty recruiting staff in the area. The rooms are fine but very outdated and reflective of what you would expect at a 3 star hotel. The biggest con: the food at the property is awful, especially at the Bellerive. Save your money and go to one of the incredible restaurants in the area. A shame that the food offering is so subpar, especially because the restaurants have such great views. I would definitely still go back because of how beautifully situated the property is and because they’ve done an excellent job with the amenities, but hopefully the service and food and rooms improve soon, or else I could see the property begin to lose many return visitors.

Despite the incredible views of the St. Lawrence, the friendly service, the historic architecture, proximity to trails for walking and cycling, we felt that the hotel was overrated including the food. Our room was tiny, several lights damaged, and quite musty. The service we experienced from the restaurant and bar staff were good and it seemed all run by teens. The gentlemen working the concierge was knowledgeable and helpful in learning about the whale watching tour which is the primary reason for coming to the area. Be warned that parking is a challenge unless you opt for the paid parking garage with no in/out privileges. One thing that tainted our stay was a wedding that was being set up that hijacked much of the grounds facing the river and obscured views for dinner guests in the restaurant and bar area. Be also prepared for a long check in process.

Reception Staff is outstanding, beyond kind and helpful, especially the amazing Fatima Z and the lovely Lucile. Building on the outside is beautiful, location and view are great HOWEVER the inside is beyond dated, the carpet in common areas stinks, is soiled with suspicious stains including what looked like a recent dog accident and the decor in the rooms gave off Shining vibes, so dated it felt creepy. Carpet is so old they overcompensate with air freshener which adds a sickening chemical smell to the stale, old carpet stench. Honestly it is shameful of Accor not to take better care of the Fairmont brand by not refreshing properties as it really, really hurts the equity and reputation of the whole portfolio. Breakfast staff was lovely but again food was disgusting. Cheese that tasted (or rather didn’t have any taste) like sliced rubber, lowest possible quality food dripping with grease, even the bread was bad and plastic-like. Very disappointing.

We found the property and hotel to be very impressive overall. However, there are a few areas that we believe require attention. The grass around the fire pit is in poor condition and would benefit from being resodded to better reflect the quality of the property. We were also disappointed with our dining experience. Given the price point of the hotel and restaurant, we expected a higher level of service. Our server did not speak both French and English, which we felt was not in keeping with the expectations for a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, both the food and the overall service did not provide good value for the cost. We found the hotel and dining experience to be very expensive relative to the quality and service received. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet and its selection.
