DESCRIPTION
Forget the rest, you`ve found the best! Very rare historic La Jolla Beach Cottage in an incredible location. Wonderful ocean views await and the beach is just steps away from this beautifully finished vacation home. The home is on Ocean Lane between Coast Boulevard and Prospect Street, right in the very heart of the Village of La Jolla.

Step inside this 1930`s era beach cottage lovingly restored and maintained for your enjoyment. Some of the highlights include hardwood flooring, wood ceilings with remote-controlled skylights that open for a sunroof effect. Bay windows offer peek ocean views from the living room, dining area, and guest suite. Off the guest suite is the bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware, and dishes needed to prepare your favorite meals, along with plenty of counter space and a period-inspired Northstar refrigerator and Convection oven.

In the living room, there is a gas fireplace to warm the evenings along with a comfy couch where you can relax and watch your favorite shows, including HBO, on the flat-screen HDTV. Or if you`d like to spend a lazy day in bed, there`s a flat-screen in the master as well, but the ocean views may be too distracting!

LOCATION
Guests at Casa de las Olas can take a brief stroll down to the ocean and La Jolla Cove. Extraordinarily beautiful, La Jolla Cove is one of the most photographed shorelines in Southern California. Because it is a protected Ecological Reserve, marine wildlife abounds. featuring sea lions, dolphins and even whales during migrating seasons. Water visibility at the Cove can sometimes exceed 30 feet, making it a very popular spot for Scuba, snorkeling and kayaking. Just up the stairs is the lively Village shopping and dining district where you will find unique treasures and delicious ocean view restaurants.

Cozy house in the heart of La Jolla

Beautiful house close the beach. The property was just as described, clean and well stocked. Walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. Would definitely book again when in the area.

lovely little beach cottage

The property was exquisite and the location perfect--one block from the ocean, with a view. We were a family of four (two kids ages ten and twelve) and it was a little tight for us as the one very small bathroom is located off the bedroom. Four people trying to get ready in the mornings was a bit comical. The parking situation (there is no off street parking) was at times a bit inconvenient but overall workable. If you stay here with a car be aware that on bright sunny days at mid-day, when the whole world wants to be at the beach you can forget about finding a parking space on the street. There is a garage nearby, though, and when we found the right one parking rates were pretty reasonable. When we went to San Diego for the day and came back in the evening street parking was readily available-the problem was only at mid-day, and my sole beef was that it would have been nice to know how crowded the streets could become at mid-day because we could easily have planned around that. The place was more or less as advertised, and lovely. It would be perfect for a couple, kind of tight for families, but I'd probably stay here again because looks and location was it was really one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.

Love this cottage

This cottage is so cute! It was perfect for us. It’s small and there isn’t a closet but there are some hooks to hang your clothes.. It didn’t bother us at all because the cottage is in the perfect location ! The best view and you can walk everywhere. We loved it and I look forward to staying there again.

Great spot. La Jolla is awesome spot to chill and gateway to other activities. Walking in the morning to seagulls and sea lions in the distance was super peaceful. Ocean view as advertised from the living room. Would recommend.

Perfect location

Amazing location, great cottage

Location to the Cove and all Prospect and La Jolla Village shops sets this place apart from anywhere else in LJ or SD. Bluewater was very quick to respond to questions and concerns. Checkin/checkout was seamless, and the home itself is great for a couple or small family (3 or less). The space is tight in the bathroom, but this is what you get in La Jolla for the price and location. So no complaints there. Highly recommend, and will be coming back next time we vaca in LJ.

Awesome location!

This property is adorable. The location fantastic. One block down to the cliffs and one block up to shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is that the bed is very hard and uncomfortable. We would definitely stay here again, but I’ll bring a mattress topper.

Deposit issue

The rental company added a large security deposit on the day of my arrival to access their cottage; this was not part of original rental agreement. While I made an immediate credit card payment, their return of my deposit took a better part of 10 days and several text before I received their credit. It’s a great location, but I doubt that I’ll use Bluewater rental again.

Perfect getaway for two with a view!

The cottage is in a perfect location close to the ocean and a few steep steps to the village. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and appliances are excellent with an antique flair. The decor is warm wood tones with bay windows that show off the gorgeous view. The property manager quickly assisted us by correcting the address to the parking garage and we were all set. Air conditioned, cozy and quaint we found ourselves not wanting to leave. We look forward to staying here again.

Met our high expectations!

This beautiful place was exactly as described and all the great reviews we read before staying here turned out to be accurate. The location is perfect... you're a short walk from the beach with an ocean view and a short walk up the stairs in the opposite direction puts you in the middle of LaJolla with restaurants, shops, an art gallery, and a great beer brewery (Karl Strauss). The unit was very clean and comfortable... perfect for two people but may be tight for more than two. We rented a car, and parking wasn't really a big problem on the street, but access to the parking garage provided with the unit wasn't very straightforward. I understand this was a new thing so hopefully they will get the issues smoothed out. I highly recommend this place and we will be back when we can stay longer!
