Great price and quaint location away from hustle of Kyoto city. Just nice for early morning walk to bamboo forest when no one is there. Would stay again. Thanks!
Really enjoyed my stay. The room overlooked the river and had great views of the mountains, too. It was a nice break from being in the busier parts of Kyoto. You’re also super close to the bamboo forest and other lovely gardens.
The staff was attentive and super helpful, especially when it was pouring outside and they offered a plastic bag to cover my luggage without me even asking. It was very useful in keeping my belongings dry.
I can definitely recommend a stay here!
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. A note for Americans and Europeans--this is a Japanese business-style hotel. It is small and functional and perfect as such. It is not a big resort hotel. It is not a spacious room for you to spread out in. It is functional and perfect for those who are there to enjoy the place and not the hotel itself. The hotel is wonderful and the staff are extremely nice. They are helpful with recommendations and holding luggage and very accommodating. The beds are a little on the softer side and the blankets are wonderfully pillowy. There is complimentary 2 bottles of water for your stay, as many business hotels provide. If you need more, there are stores in town to supply you. They have all the amenities you will need at hand. It is a nice and quiet place. The elevator is impressively small and barely fit me and my son and there is a step down when you get off on the ground floor that you should be aware of. But I absolutely loved this hotel. Anyone who gives it less than five stars doesn't understand what it is or its purpose.
Room was incredibly clean and there were some thoughtful touches with the amenities. View from room is absolutely gorgeous and the location is perfect! Staff was very kind.

Excellent Japanese breakfast, great location & staff went above & beyond.
Very good location. Onsen next to it. Rightly priced. Staff friendly. A must to use their bicycles to tour around Arashiyama. Just one down side not to the hotel but to Arashiyama. At night there is no food

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Spacious room which is hard to find in Japan. Staff were very patient and kind. Amenities were great and the views are amazing!! Highly recommend when visiting Kyoto.
This hotel and town were a highlight of my trip! Nestled in the mountains next to the river this place is like a movie. By day tourists flock but at night its quiet and has a peaceful moonlit romantic feel. I took a rickshaw through bamboo garden (the only way to do it properly) I took a boat ride down the river (easy train to the meeting point), I rented the bike from the hotel and cruised around during the evenings enjoying the river and sounds and chilling quiet surroundings. Family mart close by open 24/7 , food places close early I found a few closing at 8/9 pm using map app. At the end of the street walking towards monkey place, you will see a mysterious stone staircase. I walked up it it was a pathway to the mountain shrine. On the walkway tons of monkeys who snuck away from the park I watched them and never went into the park! Win Win Hotel.
Great location. A lot of tourists, but once the buses leave it is great to stay the night and enjoy the area. Beautiful view of the river and friendly staff.
Highly recommend! Stayed in central Kyoto at first but it was too crowded so switched to this hotel. If you wanna explore Kyoto this is a little bit further from things, but the subway is near and incredibly easy to get around with. This area is stunning. Beautiful nature and hotel is right by it + the river!
We were only at the hotel for one night, but really enjoyed the stay. The view was wonderful, the staff was so kind and helpful, and the bed was like sleeping on a very supportive cloud. We only wish we could have stayed longer
Great place. Older but well kept hotel. Excellent staff and delicious japanese breakfast. Great location minutes walk from Togetsu-kyo bridge. Spacious room & plentiful amenities. Bathroom and toilet are small though.
