"This was by far the most unique, amazing hotel we stayed at on the island of Crete. Upon arrival we were given fresh-squeezed lemonade made from their own lemon trees. The staff was so friendly! The building is over 500 years old, and nothing like I've ever seen before. "Breakfast was amazing. The room felt new and modern, and was impeccably cleaned every day. I enjoyed the location right across the street from the beach, and close to all the shops in Plakias. I would not pay for the sea view patio again, as it was mostly a view of people’s roofs, unlike the photos online. The staff was so nice on check-in. They sat down with us and gave us fresh lemonade, which we appreciated. Later on, I had a few simple questions for the front desk and got responses from staff that were irritable and even condescending. Maybe everyone was in a bad mood since it had been raining, but in the weeks we traveled, it happened three times there, and nowhere else."

"This is a truly special property in every way. The views, the pool, the grounds, the interiors. The village of Sellia is .25 km and has nice shops and practicalities. The house is also so we'll located for day trips to really explore the best of southern Crete. Joseph was a breeze to communicate with both before and during our stay. We are seriously considering returning before long even though we love so far away!"

"The apartment in Plakias is a lovely, peaceful place with privacy and a beautiful view over the bay. When we arrived, everything was spotlessly clean, and there were even some basic groceries waiting for us, such as fruit, bread, cheese, milk and wine — a very warm welcome. The beds are good and the small pool offers just the right amount of refreshment on hot days.There are a few points that don’t fully match the luxurious impression given by the photos. The dining table, sofas and outdoor furniture are of cheaper quality and therefore cracked or not very comfortable. The bathrooms also lack a shower screen or curtain, which means the entire space gets wet after showering — not very practical.Despite these details, it is a very pleasant apartment, quietly located with enough privacy, just a 3‑minute drive from the centre of Plakias, and with a view that makes you happy every morning."

"This house is simply beautiful! We spent 12 days there and were absolutely delighted. We’ve booked quite a few houses in Spain and Italy, but this one beats them all! Everything has been thought of here, and above all, the quality is superb! The pool was maintained several times during our stay, and we even had the house cleaned with fresh bed linen after the first week. The outdoor kitchen is simply fabulous for barbecues. The outdoor shower is simply wonderful, and the view of the sea at any time of day is the best thing you could ask for. We visited some beautiful coves and beaches in the surrounding area. The maximum drive there was 10–15 minutes. We highly recommend a visit to Taverna Mariou, which is just 500 metres away. Top-notch food with a breathtaking view. A hidden gem is the Merastri Sellia Taverna, just a 15-minute drive away. We didn’t find better food anywhere else. We wouldn’t recommend eating out in Plakias – the quality is rather poor. The Syn.Ka supermarket is just an 8-minute drive away.Communication with the manager, Dimitra, was excellent. The same goes for the owner, Tasos. When we arrived, we were surprised to find various specialities in the fridge and on the kitchen table. Thank you very much for that! The only downside is the strong winds in July, but on the plus side, it wasn’t too hot. And having a cup of tea or coffee on the upper terrace and looking out over the sea, is the very definition of quality life. Thank you so much for everything!"

"Die Lage im Bergdorf Mariou ist wunderschön und sehr ruhig. Besonders der fantastische Blick ins Tal und auf das Meer hat uns begeistert. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, gut ausgestattet und die Betten sind sehr bequem. Der Vermieter war jederzeit freundlich, herzlich und gut erreichbar. Zur Begrüßung standen Gebäck, Getränke und Lebensmittel bereit, und während unseres Aufenthalts wurden wir zusätzlich mit Wein und frischen Eiern überrascht. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub. Bei unserer Ankunft war die Unterkunft leider nicht so gründlich gereinigt, wie wir es erwartet hätten. Auch der Pool machte zunächst keinen besonders gepflegten Eindruck und hätte während unseres Aufenthalts deutlich häufiger gereinigt werden können. Die in der Buchung angegebenen Wechselintervalle für Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurden nicht immer eingehalten. Statt der angekündigten drei Tage über das Buchungsportal wurde bei der Ankunft ein Wechsel alle vier Tage vereinbart, was für uns in Ordnung war. Teilweise wurden daraus jedoch auch fünf Tage. Beim Bettwäschewechsel war das für uns allerdings kein großes Problem, da wir ohnehin nur einen einzigen Wechsel während unseres Aufenthalts gewünscht hatten. In der Nachbarschaft gibt es derzeit einige Baustellen, die teilweise deutlich zu hören sind, die uns persönlich jedoch nicht gestört haben. Mit etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit bei Sauberkeit und Poolpflege könnte die Unterkunft aus unserer Sicht problemlos 5 Sterne erreichen."
