Great!

No worries. Plenty of parking, close to great beaches including Poipu beach where you will see beautiful turtles and maybe a monk seal as well. Do NOT approach them closely. It is because of human contact that they are endangered. So do your part to make sure that God's creations are unharmed. Wonderful vibe in the condo. Great views. Easy access to restaurants. No way you could go wrong with this rental. Don't wait, just reserve it now. You will not be disappointed.!

Picture does not tell the whole story

The pictures were accurate but the unit was very tired. The couch and overstuffed chair were well worn. The ottoman you couldn’t sit on comfortably because it had no support. The glass coffe table had a narrow edge and was dangerous. We moved the table out of the way.The living area was very musty. Carpet was old and likely contributed to the musty smell. The air conditioner in the living area did not perform well and did not clear out any of that musty smell. The old, small beach chairs, and very small umbrella in the closet was not really usable for us. We went ahead and rented our own Tommy Bahama chairs and umbrella for the trip.The unit was very clean. The bathroom was nice as it had been updated. All communication with Vacasa and the logistics of renting was excellent.Great view.At 400 a night I did not feel it was a good value.We will try another location next year.

Beautiful location, unacceptably shabby condo

The listing photos are deceptive and don’t represent the sad condition of much of the old, decrepit furniture, the stretched and bunched-up wall-to-wall carpet, or the refrigerator with many rust and abrasion stains on the outside. The metal grated balcony table and uncomfortable chairs are rusted, with no towels or pads available. The ugly bare concrete floor is badly patched and discolored.The living room ottoman is completely caved in and broken. The glass coffee table is dangerous and sports several chips in the corners, at least one of which is where a previous guest reported here that he gashed himself. Out of self defense, we placed magazines on all four corners to avoid the same fate.The sliding slatted doors of the hall closet are crooked and unsightly. Both cheap bedroom side tables are badly scratched and damaged. There is no colorful bedspread as shown in the listing photos, and the bedroom ceiling fan light is missing bulbs, making the room quite dark.We were shocked by the lack of upkeep of this condo, especially given the nightly price. With its top-floor location and view, it’s obvious that the owner is milking it for every penny and is unconcerned with quality, style, or guest comfort. It’s such a privilege to own something on this precious edge of Kaua’i, and for guests like us to have the wherewithal to rent it. I hope that after seeing the photos that we’ll submit to Vacasa, the owner will be inspired to do better for their next visitors.

Condo needs a makeover

The view of the ocean was the best part of this condo. However, this location needs a makeover. The furniture is old and dated so it needs to be replaced except for the bed which was comfortable. The TV is too small to view for the distance from the couch. The outdoor patio furniture was dirty and uncomfortable with no cushions. The carpet needs to be replaced and shower door is off the channel. An investment needs to be put into this location to update it and make it functional. For the most part, it was clean. However, the cleaning crew did not open the screen window as we discovered a mound of dead insects in the window sill and had to kill 2 cockroaches during our stay. We also discovered bugs coming out of the kitchen sink drain during the day. This is not a contemporary place to stay.

Beautiful view

One elevator for the entire facility and this room is on the 4th floor. Minor repairs needed. Doors, window shades, etc. But they currently have a cockroach problem in the kitchen and throughout the apartment that I sincerely hope they address. They did not seem too concerned but we didnt want to leave our things on the floor or on the counters.

Amazing views !

Amazing views! We spent hours watching the surfers and turtles. Good location with lots of restaurants near by. The king size bed was comfortable and the a/c was needed and appreciated. The kitchen was well enough stocked for the bit of eating we did at home. The bathroom was nicely renovated. On the downside, the living room furniture was a bit worn and most disappointing was the furniture in the lanai where we spent some time. Please add a bar height table to be able to see over the railing and some comfortable chairs!

Great view and location

This unit has a fantastic view and is in a great location. Being on the top floor is great, and the kitchen has most necessities. Some small storage containers would be nice. The lanai furniture is rusty. The large ottoman is definitely broken, as was reviewed previously. I fell hard into the center, as the springs are shot! The response to the other person was that a manager looked at it and it was fine - the manager needs to sit on it. The outdated metal, small, unadjustable sand chairs should be replaced with the more current Tommy Bahamas like almost all other places have, they were very uncomfortable. The lanai screen door is broken, Vacasa knows about this but it won't be fixed until August, which didn't help us during our April stay. The dishwasher was broken, we were informed about this before our arrival. We were compensated for that. There was a lot of contact with Vacasa regarding 3 issues, and I received some calls from them from private numbers. That left us feeling uneasy. Each call included requests to have service people enter if we weren't there, which we agreed to. There was no follow-up contact as to whether they actually came out and fixed anything, except for the nice technician who came out for the AC the 1st morning while we were there.The lack of clear communication from Vacasa, and amongst their employees left us feeling uncomfortable during our stay. We never knew if someone had entered while we were out or not, as nothing had changed.

The sounds of the Ocean

The location is amazing and conveniently located. When we walked into the unit we could immediately hear the waves crashing. Each morning and evening we enjoyed the views from lanai. The unit was a good size for 2 people, but some of the furniture was “tired” and uncomfortable. It also would have been nice if the bedroom had a small tv for the option to wind down and relax in the bedroom.

Beautiful view, located in a great place!

Beautiful ocean view. Saw turtles daily. Comfy bed and 4 large pillows. Condo stocked with everything you need! So great to be able to use the 2 chairs, umbrella and cooler that was in the unit. 1 working elevator. Lots of great restaurants nearby with the beach house restaurant next door and close enough to walk to. Door lock was a pain and didn’t always work/open the first time. We would stay here again.

Just another day in paradise

Well appointed and beautifully located property. Vacasa were so easy to deal with. Sunsets, surfers, turtles, and surf. Magical.

What a view!

We really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was easy. We were captivated by the view from the lanai, watching the waves of the Pacific crashing on the rocks below or watching the surfers getting their day going. Sitting outside to watch the sunset was a treat. The kitchen had all the things we needed to dine in, and there were plenty of nearby choices for dining out. We really liked the layout of the unit; you could choose to eat at the counter, or from the dining table that looks out its own picture window, or on the lanai. A nice clean and relaxing place. No complaints whatsoever.

Amazing Views and Location

This property was absolutely incredible! The check in process was easy and the place was extremely clean when we arrived. The view is stunning. We enjoyed watching the surfers and even saw some turtles! The location couldn’t be better. Lawai beach was a 2 minute walk and was a great place to snorkel. You’re also only minutes away from Poipu. We really appreciated the welcome gifts and the fact that the rental was fully stocked with everything needed. We would 100% recommend and will definitely be back!

Nine Days in Paradise

Our vacation at Kuhio Shores was perfect! Waking up to the view from our lanai each morning was breathtaking. We spent time on the many beaches, dined at excellent restaurants, surfed clean waves, snorkeled right next to our condo, spent quality time with our kids and grandkids, explored other parts of the island of Kauai, kayaked the Hanalei River, shopped at the Poipu Farmer’s Market and so much more. We are definitely returning for another nine days!

Beach front beauty

Absolutely stunning view! The moment you walk in you’ll be in awe of the ocean view. Every morning we sat looking for sea turtles and watching surfers. Super short walk to PK beach for snorkeling (bring your own snorkels) . At night, you can crab dinner at the Beach House right next door. On top of all that, the host is Great - they left us a card and goodies for our anniversary.

The View

As soon as you walk in the door your vision is filled we the most beautiful crystal blue water. AC is COLD. We live on island so we turned it off and opened the windows and I can tell you the sound of the waves were all you need. Stocked kitchen with all you need for cooking which I definitely recommend right now because eating out is hard these days. The location was PERFECT. My husband and I came through for a bump in the swell and it was so nice to just wake up and take a look off the lanai at the waves and strike it when the tide was right. It is also very convenient to all the shopping and restaurants. We will be staying here again.

Perfect stay

Right on the water on upper floor

Great view of the ocean with nice waves crashing at night. Kitchen well stocked and bathroom clean etc! Furnishings are looking tired and worn but since we were out and about most of the time we didn’t mind. Overall nice property and good location a bit away from the crowds

Tranquility with amazing views

Great location with Gorgeous views. Kitchen appliances & extras are all in good working shape. Aged furniture Rumbling AC in bedroom which ended up with a leak. However, manager responded & got it fixed eventually. Broken lock, also got fixed by the maint. Manager. Unit needs updating for the price.
