Villa Castolini is lovely. From the minute we arrived until we left the staff were friendly and at one's beck & call. Nothing was too much trouble. The room and bathroom were neat, tidy and very clean. The facilities are top notch. A very pleasant stay. One I will definitely recommend.

Easy check in, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Stunning views, the place is kept clean at a high standard. Well run by the manager. We had some amazing food, the chef was creative and we loved what he created for us even though the restaurant wasn't officially open yet. We will definitely return. I can highly recommend staying at Villa castollini.

Spectacular views with an amazing swimming pool.

I found this little gem at the last minute and when I pulled up, I was so pleasantly surprised. It looks like something out of Italy has a Tuscany feel to it but had lots of character and when I went inside it was even more beautiful. Beautiful views from the swimming pool and amazing staff that made my stay very enjoyable. If I ever go back to South Africa, I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful property on a hill over looking Kisha. Hostess very helpful and recommended things to do and good restaurants. Only complaint would be allowing smoking in the bar room. Would have used it more if not so smelly.

A hidden gem.

We had a wonderful stay. The owner and staff were so welcoming and friendly. The whole ambiance of the property was comfortable, relaxing and secure, and the view over the Knysna river and lagoon from the patio was fantastic. The breakfast was very good quality, and in fact our whole stay was incredibly good value. We only stayed one night as we were moving on to an Airbnb previously booked, however wished we had found this sooner as we would have loved to have stayed longer, it was so good.

Far exceeded expectations

This may have been one of my favourite places that I’ve ever stayed. Where to start! We received a very warm welcome from the staff when we arrived (much later than planned). The property is beautiful, set above the lake just a short drive outside of Knysna. Our room had a huge balcony with a view overlooking the lake. It is such a relaxing and scenic setting that it was difficult to find the motivation to leave during the days! From the amazing breakfast, self service bar, and wonderful staff, this is such a lovely spot to stay.

Beautiful, Affordable, but with Limitations

Extraordinary and spectacular classical Italianate structures atop the highest hill in Knysna. Quiet, peaceful, and the photo of the beautiful sunset was taken from the property. Our room was like a honeymoon suite, complete with four poster bed and private terrace with fabulous view. But it's a quirky, albeit charming property, and furnishings, flooring, and the breakfast buffet could all use an update. Francoise is a sweet, caring manager, but there is no staff after 8pm and a well-stocked honor bar is it.
