Summary:
The Saltaire Cottages are a set of quaint, semi-ocean front properties located at milepost 2.5 in Kitty Hawk, NC. This landmark has been welcoming families to the Outer Banks for over 50 years!

We have 1-4 bedroom cottages that each have a kitchen, family room and screened balcony. Our private beach access is directly across the street and a beautiful pool with elevated sun decks is on site. Each unit has heat/air, TV's, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig, toaster, pots/pans, dishes and silverware

The Space:
This 2 bed / 2 bath cozy cottage offers all the amenities of a small house in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable.

This cottage has 3 entrances - one to the main living area / kitchen and 1 to each of the 2 master bedrooms. This allows guests staying in each bedroom access to their room from the outside without having to disturb others in the cottage. There is also a “lock-off” feature to separate the 2nd bedroom if desired.

While in the cottage, You can enjoy relaxing in your bedroom, the family room or out on the screened in balcony.

Each of the rooms in the cottage is equipped with a flat screen cable tv.

This was perfect for our last minute get away. Communication was great. Check in could not have been easier. The location was great with food and ice cream within walking distance. Beautiful view from the observation pool deck. The kitchen was nicely stocked. We will definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful time. The place was clean, very tidy, and provided all we needed to feel at home. Amanda did such a lovely job putting this place together. We will return. Pool was nice, loved the outdoor space very much. The walk to the beach was so convenient, my teenager was able to come and go and we felt safe in her doing so. Thanks again!

Great stay at Saltaire Cottages

The property was amazing - spacious, clean, and comfortable for our family vacation. Location is perfect, property is less than a minute to the beach, and very close to restaurants, and grocery store. We traveled during the Covid pandemic, and Daniel the owner was very responsive and accommodating leading to and during the visit, taking all the necessary precautions to make sure the property was clean. Will definitely come back.

Fun family vacation with convenient location

Our family had a fantastic week staying at Saltaire Cottages. The short walk to the beach made it nice to visit the beach multiple times a day coming back to the rooms for meals. Our kids (4 and 6) loved the pool and games beside the pool. Our family grilled a few times during our stay. We were happy to see clean well maintained grills. We did have a small problem with ants in the kitchen when we arrived but got a quick response from maintenence and they came to spray right away. The rooms are fairly small but you can't beat the location and price. We can't wait to stay again!

The cottage itself was nice and lean, but the mattresses have seen better days. The pool was very dirty. We also did not like the invitation, if you will, to tip house cleaning when we were asked to pay a fee to cover it when we booked our reservation, along with being asked to remove our rubbish to the outside bin.

Short Stay, would stay again!

Inside of the property is as exactly as advertised. Property was clean and the manager was very receptive. Had some minor issues with key pad door, but the manager resolved quickly. Only negative was the screened in porch was in disarray and needs some screens replaced, to be expected so close to the beach!

Did not Comfortably fit family of 6

The bed linens were changed however the room was not clean. I had to wipe down the end tables, dressers and coffee table when we came in. My 6 year old found an exploded hair product under the king bed. We were given 5 bath towels for 6 people for a week when the listing said towels were provided. I know the listing said a starter would be provided with toilet paper and paper towels however for this amount of money I would think basic things like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags should be included. For what was paid a night we could’ve booked two hotel rooms. The master bed room didn’t have a door that locked or even closed. It looked like at some point there was a door but the only door was on the other room and it wouldn’t shut so there was no privacy. The floors are paper thin so half the night we were kept up by the people over us. I never did get the door lock to work. I do appreciate management getting back to me in a timely manner although I was told there would be laundry on the premises and when I asked the staff they said there wasn’t. I definitely think this property is better suited for smaller families or people without kids.

Great location for OBX

We definitely enjoyed our stay. The pool was a life saver with our little kids. The location was great and encouraged us to go back to beach at night for walks and kite flying. Now that we've stayed, will definitely try to get a second floor room next time, as you will hear the upstairs guests, especially if they're walking about or making reasonable noise at night. Overall a nice stay for our family of 4.
