The Wave Den is a quaint 4-bedroom recently renovated cottage tucked away in a private cul-de-sac surrounded by live oaks in the charming Sound and Sea Village of Duck. With only a 5-minute walk (1,000 ft) to one of the best (and most dog friendly) beaches in the Outer Banks, you will be sure to make lots of great memories. There is ample outdoor space to savor the warm sunlight and cool ocean breezes during the spring, summer and fall months. And, if it gets too warm there is a shady area under the house for the kids to play and the family to gather around the grill to dine al fresco. The screened-in porch is the perfect place to quietly enjoy a cup of coffee every morning or sip a glass of wine in the evening. The Sound (beautiful sunsets) is only a short walk away. The nearby bike/walking path are great for exercising, walking the dog, or biking into the town of Duck. It’s the ideal ocean-side retreat to refresh and unwind.

This is a great place to stay for a large family or a few adults. The Hugh deck and screened in pouch are great for rainy morning or relaxing in the evening.

We had a wonderful time here. The house has everything you’d need for the beach, sports equipment, a peaceful screened porch, and a very cozy feeling overall. The beach is a quick walk down a private road, and we really enjoyed our time in Duck, which is quieter than other parts of the OBX but with lots of great restaurants, shops, and a terrific boardwalk on the sound.

We had such a wonderful time at Wave Den! Everything was very clean, things were easy to find! We loved how there were things for the beach as well as cornhole! It is so close to the beach and the neighborhood was easy to navigate. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay here the home had all the amenities we needed for the week in the kitchen and for the beach also plenty of room for 7. I especially loved the deck for my morning coffee location was great too we did morning walks on the beach everyday!

This was the perfect house for our family! Lots of outdoor space and very clean and nice inside! Kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and utensils! A short walk to the beach and a great little community with friendly neighbors!

We loved this cute cottage ! Plenty of space, clean, nice size bedrooms, big decks and we loved the screened in deck. Great space to enjoy your morning coffee and playing games in the evenings. And a GREAT location, a short walk to the beach and the sound. We absolutely loved it. We definitely will be back !

Taylor was very quick to respond to any texts I sent her. The overall cleanliness was very clean, needs a good power wash on the outside but mattresses were comfortable, kitchen pretty well stocked, and a short walk to the beach! We would stay here again and stay longer!

We all enjoyed this cozy cottage, especially the screened porch. Room enough for all. The beach was close enough and the beach cart made taking the gear easy. Taylor, the manager was quick to help with questions we had. Nice place.

Our stay at this house was just perfect! It was clean, easy to find, perfect location and had everything we needed! We appreciate that it is dog friendly! We would highly recommend this property and will probably be back!! Some nice features were the keypad entry to the house, A/C, Adirondack chairs and like new washer/dryer. The location is ideal, you can walk to the beach and bike or drive into duck. The house was VERY clean and comfortable.

For our needs a perfect fit, nice neighborhood, easy beach access, pup friendly. Kiddos played basketball, volleyball, rode the rented bikes, much beach time. The home itself very nice without being over the top. The screen porch was perfect for outdoor meals, book reading, kids putting Lego 's together. The inside living area is not huge square footage but very user friendly. Hope to return.

Even though our week coincided with a tropical storm, I treasured the time with my two teenagers and our two dogs, particular since my son is about to go to boarding school for his last two years of high school. The host was very communicative and friendly. I asked for suggestions of how we could celebrate my son’s 17th birthday and Taylor gave me quite a few options. The house is clean and adorable. We had no problem walking to the beach and so appreciated the covered space underneath to let our things dry. The hose and outdoor shower were so convenient! Our favorite place to be (especially in the rain) was in the screened in porch!! The house is right in Duck. We would definitely return!

We had a great time at the Wave Den! 2 couples, 2 kids, and a dog for 6 nights and everyone had plenty of space. The home's layout makes for laid back living. Our favorite place was the screened in back deck. The house is outfitted with everything we needed, even the little things that don't occur to you when going away. The beach cart/buggy made it simple to get down to the beach, and the neighborhood is extremely quiet. We loved that the Wave Den is dog-friendly, as is the beach. We got to meet a handful of homeowners from the neighborhood and everyone was nice to us out-of-towners. We made some great memories, and the whole family wants to book again!

The house is adorable and clean with a smart layout allowing a large family group in a cozy house. There are multiple gathering areas outside with a comfortable living area. The photo of the front of the house does not do it or its location justice. It is remarkably secluded and in the early morning and in the evenig, you can hear the ocean from the screened in porch. It's a short (and pretty) walk to the beach and a nice bike ride to the shops in Duck. The owners were easy to work with and prompt in returning calls and texts. My adult kids, my husband and I were all really happy to spend the weekend there. Our one regret was our stay was too short!!

Our 2-week stay in this quiet cul-de-sac home was perfect…clean with updated bathrooms, lots of kitchen amenities for cooking, large washer/dryer, great A/C and comfortable beds. We really appreciated all the outdoor seating and the roofed-screened-in porch that allowed us to sit outside during the one morning of rain. The tree-surround provides a nice layer of privacy. Couldn’t have been happier with outdoor shower and hoses to keep the salt & sand out of the home. The fat-tire push-beach-buggy for transporting umbrella, chairs and cooler is a god-send!! We already booked our 2022 stay….THANK YOU for being a dog-friendly home!!!

This was 9 days of well deserved and perfectly timed total relaxation. Clean.. quiet…well equipped. Beds are comfortable. Walk in shower is awesome. Close to the beach as well as Duck (love those Duck Donuts). The brand-spanking new deck was an invitation to sit out and just chill. New vinyl flooring was perfect for quick clean ups of sand and pet hair. I only wish there had been swifter floor dusters and mops. We are back to the real world….. but next summer we’re hoping to return to the Wave Den.

What a great place to stay! We are three generations so we each have our own needs. This beach cottage was perfect for us. We could all be together but each also had our separate space. The pictures do not do it justice. This place in general is much more attractive than the pictures. The screened in porch is perfect for watching the sunrise while drinking my morning coffee. The living room accommodated us very comfortably. The trip to the ocean is quite short. My granddaughters loved the outside shower. We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay during our vacation. Also our host was very responsive. I highly recommend this beach house!

Returning this year and finding “our” house even better than last year was a delight. Freshly painted with new sofas ..delightful! Best of all new copper infused mattress tops that are bacteria and bug resilient…and amazingly comfortable!! All the thoughtful amenities are there as well, Keurig coffee maker, Dyson vacuum, hair dryer, and much more. The A/C is very good. Wi-Fi is just a little slow. As always we arrived to a clean fresh beach bungalow that is secluded in a quite cul-de-sac. The screened porch is perfect for quiet morning coffee and rowdy evening UNO games. Duck NC is a friendly village that has so far resisted high rise super condos.
