I stayed during a heatwave. My room had something that appeared to be an electric fan, but no matter how much I fiddled with the contols, I could do no more than get the motor to run. I don’t know whether the machine was a fan or a heater, but, either way, there should have been a functioning fan. Brushing off the circumstances as unprecedented, as the management did, fails to recognize that hot, muggy days and nights in Oxford have happened before and will again.
I did not appreciate management's repeatedly addressing me by my surname without an honorific. Clearly, they don’t care about treating their guests with respect.
Lastly, the checkin system is cumbersome. The machine is a small area that cannot accommodate anyone checking in with luggage and anothe guest trying to enter or exit.
