A character brick and flint cottage in the heart of the village of Docking, Maurice Cottage cleverly blends modern comforts with traditional features in stylish yet unfussy interiors. Two king-size beds, practical facilities and the great location are just some factors that make Maurice Cottage an ideal base for beach holidays, birdwatching and discovering all the wonders of north and west Norfolk. Bring your dogs along - they will love it too!
Maurice Cottage has a relaxed and comfortable home-from-home ambience. It is cosy in winter and cool in summer, with the convenience of a secure private courtyard and off-road parking. When it's time to settle down and relax after a day spent in the big outdoors, nestle into the comfortable sofas, light the wood burning stove and watch a film on the widescreen Smart television. The well-equipped kitchen / diner has a spacious rustic country feel, and features a butler's sink and electric oven with induction hob, with a step down to the delightful table with seating for six, and the homely backdrop of an ornamental fireplace. Beyond this you will find a handy utility room. The bathroom has the choice of soaking in a hot tub or a refreshing rainfall shower, making it practical and ideal for all seasons. As is traditional for Norfolk cottages of this age, the bathroom is on the ground floor though now updated to be tiled, smart and modern. Up the stairs, which are a tad steep but straight, two bedrooms are located, both with king-size beds, storage and Smart televisions.
Outside, the cottage has a private and fully enclosed shingle courtyard garden with accompanying charcoal barbecue and a fire pit - the perfect option for an al fresco meal on a summer evening. There is off-road parking for one large or two small cars on the driveway beside the cottage. Additional cars can park freely on the village street. It's a great base for exploring by bikes too, with miles of quiet country lanes and undercover bike storage in the courtyard garden.
Docking is a great base with a good village store, popular local pub, fish and chip shop and play area and tennis courts, plus walks from the doorstep. Located just four miles inland from the beautiful Brancaster coastline, and a similar distance from Burnham Market, HM The King's Sandringham Estate, Hunstanton seaside town nature reserves and more, you are perfectly situated to enjoy a true Norfolk experience.
