"In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern. Onsite the Shower of Herring restaurant did not disappoint and we had two excellent meals. The resort is well maintained and this is also...

"Melfort was an excellent base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. The cottage was very well equipped and staff very helpful ,welcoming and dog friendly ( especially Olwynn). "Room was very spacious. Great location in the centre of Inveraray. Only down side was our room was on the main road. Very noisy during the early hours of the morning. Check in is in the brambles cafe, but cafe was busy. Staff was great but was understandably trying to do many things. Sign of the times. But room was certainly fantastic."
