    Lodging and Locale

    Welcome to Buffalo Lodge 8397, hosted by Great Western Lodging, located directly in the heart of River Run Village at Keystone Resort. This warm, mountain-rustic studio offers a cozy and efficient space designed to help you make the most of your time in the mountains. The thoughtfully designed layout features a convenient tuck-away queen Murphy bed that maximizes living space during the day while providing a comfortable place to rest at night. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals between ski runs or after a day of exploring the village. With inviting décor and a prime courtyard location, this studio is the perfect retreat for couples or small groups seeking both comfort and convenience in the heart of ski country.

    Buffalo Lodge offers excellent shared amenities including ski lockers, community pool tables, outdoor hot tubs, and a grill within the complex. Guests also enjoy access to an adjacent heated pool, sauna, and additional open-air hot tubs with beautiful mountain views.

    Located in the pedestrian-only River Run Village, you’ll be just steps from restaurants, shops, après-ski spots, and the Keystone Gondola for effortless access to the slopes. Year-round activities including skiing, hiking, biking, festivals, and dining make this one of Keystone’s most desirable locations.

    Space is recommended for 2 guests to sleep comfortably; up to 4 guests may sleep using the provided air mattress.

    We provide a basic starter pack for guests, including travel-size toiletries, a limited supply of paper products, and laundry/dishwasher detergent. This includes enough to get you through a day or two, depending on personal usage. If you have a longer stay planned, you may wish to bring or purchase more. Additionally, we do not supply coffee, spices, or other kitchen food items.

Everything was great- we were granted a late checkout which was much appreciated but when we got back to the room for a quick shower before departure, the water was turned off which was a bit inconvenient. We were also not able to wipe down counters or start the dishwasher as requested

Cozy studio

The apartment was nice, clean and warm. The price was more than reasonable. Having a locker was a plus. Locations is on a walking distance to the gondola which is a plus too. Highly recommend the place for a couple but it is roomy so can accommodate up to 4 people well.

Nice stay

The unit was nice and accommodated us well. It had great location, and was generally as described.That said, there were one or two minor things that are opportunities:The bureau for storing clothes appeared to be an old entertainment center and is very large. The dining table for this one room efficiency (that would be a stretch to house any more than the two of us) was also large and they were right next to each other such that you could not open the doors to the bureau when standing in front of it - and you could not get in front of it when the doors were open... to us - a smaller bureau or a smaller table (or both) would have been fine.Also the position of the murphy bed was such that - when down for sleeping it pretty much cut off access to the bathroom - making it challenging for whoever might occupy the right half of the bed.We also felt that - while the kitchen was nice - it lacked a few basic amenities like Salt and Pepper, Olive Oil, etc...These would have been nice provisions considering the price of the unit...Still a comfortable stay and a nice unit...

Top location, but ...

Positive: Location in the middle of the River Run village. Price was reasonable. Equipment and amenities were good.Negative: 1. Check In process - email with instructions was only sent on the day of arrival, the Lockbox was difficult to find in the Lockbox cabinet and the provided lockbox code was wrong. We had to contact an after hour emergency line and wait for their response.2. Bed situation: The main bed was a queen size murphy bed. Pulled-down you had to step over the metal frame and matress at the corner of the bed to get to the bathroom. Furthermore it was squeeking with every move, which made it more or less impossible to sleep with 2 persons in the bed. I decided to take the sleeper sofa and found a note inside, not to use it, but instead to use an inflatable air matress to be found in the closet. I did not do that and slept on the sofa without unfolding it. 3. Elevator: One of the two elevators was not working and the other one was having technical problems and wasn't enough around the peak times.
