PROS:
Location: Short walk away from the River Run gondola. Our unit had a clear view of the main slope and gondola from the living room and balcony. You can walk to River Run Village in less than 5 minutes.
CONS:
Check-in Process: You can't check-in at the unit itself. You have go a few miles down the road to a separate building, where a "secure" lockbox has an envelope with your last name on it, which contains your room keys. This was a pain because we did not have a rental car and it was a quite a hike from the unit itself. Also, there is nothing secure about the lockbox. There was a line of about 10 people waiting to get their keys and the lockbox was wide open with a pile of envelopes inside. The envelope just has your last name on it, so if another renter shares your last name you run the risk of accidentally grabbing their envelope and keys.
Cleanliness: The couch has a massive sticky stain on it that covered 2 of the 3 cushions. I'm not a neat freak but this was just disgusting. We immediately messaged the contact for the property. They responded quickly but said there was nothing they could do on such "short notice". Seriously? What a joke. On our 3rd day, as we were about to go out, someone randomly showed up to clean the couch. No heads up. We declined, since we didn't want some random person in our room while we were out all day.
Closet Space: Another problem we encountered was the complete lack of closet space or storage for our clothes. There were two closets in the room, one was locked, and the other was tiny and almost full will sheets, pillows, and random stuff. We were staying for a week and had to live out of out suitcases.
OVERALL:
I wouldn't stay here again. The location was great but we had friends staying in other parts of the mountain who were just as close to the slopes, and had a much better experience with their rentals units.
