We found the stairs steep as my husband has mobility issues but it was no bother for the younger members of our family.
We all enjoyed staying in the property. It had plenty room and did not feel over crowded with 8 of us staying there. The water pressure for the showers was very good. Plenty plates/cutlery etc in the kitchen. Small point was that the oven took a very long time to cook anything but otherwise all good. We would come back.
Probably the best rental accommodation I have ever stayed in, and very close to Keswick centre. Very impressed and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location 4 large bedrooms and a large dining room. Close to shops and restaurants. Only slight downside is parking , it's on street and difficult to find a space.

Had a great family holiday. Keswick is probably the nicest Lake District town and well situated for some good walks. The house is very well positioned near the centre but parking is a problem.

We had a really good time at Blencathra House, it's comfortable, easy and brilliantly located for everything that Keswick has to offer. Our group included young children and older relatives, and the house worked well for everyone.
We enjoyed the small but very nice garden, which is shared between (and overlooked by) five different houses.
We would suggest that the owners change the lighting in the kitchen/dining room. The current LED spot lights give a very harsh "cold white" light, which made spending time in this room after dark quite unpleasant and unappealling. Changing the bulbs for warm white would make a massive difference to the experience of the house overall!

A comfortable well equipped house in a great location for exploring Keswick and beyond.
A comfortable well equipped house in a great location for exploring Keswick and beyond. Surprisingly peaceful and quiet considering it is in a street of many guest houses.
We had a lovely family weekend making the most of our National Trust memberships to visit Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth sites also walking in the fells.

The perfect location just around the corner from the centre, was a four minute walk to the Dog and Gun !
6 adults and two children (3 & 9mths) stayed here during a fairly moist week after Easter and it was just lovely. The heating was great and worked, all the hot water and showers were great. It was absolutely spotlessly clean when we arrived and it had everything you'd need in the kitchen.
Plenty parking around the property and with some luck we managed to get all three cars within 25yds of the property after a couple of days.
Stunning views to Skiddaw.
Highly recommend for families, groups of friends and couples.

Our group of Fellwalkers have been coming to Blencathra House for 10 years.
Our group of Fellwalkers have been coming to Blencathra House for 10 years. We still keep coming back because of its location in Keswick and it meets the needs of our group 10/11 fellwalkers perfectly. We were delighted to notice on arrival the appearance of towels, an excellent move. 2 of our party with "dodgy" backs complained about the softness of the mattress, they were sleeping on. We normally come out of school holiday time in March/April and would have done this year, but I was not able to book the week we would have preferred. In the end of course the weather got better and better last week so all were happy that we were walking in warm early summer sunshine by Thursday and Friday. Thanks again for such a special place.

Lovely house in a convenient location.
Lovely house in a convenient location. It’s very close to a small shop and 5mins into town, Fitz Park and the leisure centre are a 5min walk too.
The property is spacious, comfortable and has more than enough kitchen utensils, cutlery & dinnerware, everything works & the central heating was better than adequate. Very likely to stay here again.
The parking can be tricky, but that’s Keswick tbh , you can pretty much park where you like after 6pm.
