Private Wine Country Estate with Panoramic Views, Tennis Court - TOT Cert 450N

Step onto the terrace for a massage with one of our recommended masseurs or take an afternoon swim in in the 50 foot pool-with-a-view and you will feel like you are in your own private resort. Recently featured in California Homes and Design Magazine*, Lavender Hill is a luxury hide-away in the Wine country available year-round for discerning guests. If you and your group appreciate design, setting and amenities a cut above the standard vacation rental property, you will not be disappointed.

The property consists of a contemporary three bedroom, two and one-half bath main house, plus a Craftsman style one bedroom, one bath guest house, on a ridge-top location with spectacular 280-degree views of the vineyards of Sonoma Valley. There are five very private, fenced and gated acres, much of them level or gently sloping with mature oak and olive trees--ideal for relaxing with your family or friends.

The large, well-appointed gourmet kitchen has a six-burner Viking range, two convection ovens, a wine refrigerator, and concrete/steel counters. There is formal indoor dining for twelve people, casual outdoor dining for 12+.

The spacious master bedroom boasts a separate stereo system, television w/ DVD/VCR, satellite service w/HBO. The master bath has a two-person, Japanese-style soaking tub and a detached slate shower w/ skylight. New in 2008: Hardcourt Tennis court w/ basketball hoop.

All bedrooms have Frette bathrobes, 620 thread-count linens and tasteful furniture. In addition, there is 1500 square feet of decking for outdoor dining and relaxing, a lap pool with an automatic cover and a 6-person outdoor hot tub with a beautiful view of the Mayacamas mountains and the Sonoma valley.

NEW IN MARCH OF 2021: Outdoor kitchen and bar with gas and wood grills, professional bartender’s sink, seating for four and night lighting.

Secluded yet only five minutes from the award-winding wineries of the northern Sonoma Valley. 12 miles from Sonoma Plaza, ten miles to Santa Rosa; 30 minutes to the Russian River and Napa valley. Child friendly. Completely remodeled in 2002. This is not a party house. WE DO NOT ALLOW EVENTS OR PARTIES OF ANY KIND! SORRY!!

Beautiful home in a great location!

The home is beautiful and has everything you need for a great stay. The location and views are breath taking! The host was very responsive and the accommodations were very comfortable with all of the amenities you need while away from home. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful setting in Kenwood

We enjoyed our stay at the home. The panoramic windows in the living area provided wonderful views of the valley and wildlife. It was very well stocked and restful!

Amazing retreat for our whole family

Can We Go Back?

What a fantastic home! My husband, 5-month-old daughter, and I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks; it was a dream. Family and friends came out on the weekends, and we enjoyed the nearby wineries (Hamel, Coursey Graves, B. Wise) and some awesome restaurants (Golden Bear Station and Stella are new ones you shouldn't miss!). We spent nearly every morning playing tennis 3 I am so thankful to the super-responsive owner, William, for listing this home and allowing others to create new memories here.

New Year’s Retreat

Our adult family of 8 had a terrific time in Kenwood. The home is very well appointed with lots of custom touches and high end sheets and towels. We love to cook and enjoyed the kitchen which has all the toys a chef will need. The grill kitchen, pickle court and hot tub were all put to use. The location is perfect with great views and proximity to all the Sonoma points of interest.

Excellent winter holiday stay

The drive in and out of the property will amaze from the start! The property is wonderfully situated a top a quiet and peaceful Sonoma mountain with fantastic views in all directions. The house is beautifully architected and great for a large group, including the guest house. Game room, hot tub, chef’s kitchen and fire places made for an excellent stay. Kenwood Winery was our fave right near the house. Host was excellent with any questions we had. Our group was super pleased!

Better than the photos

Lavender Hill was the perfect spot for a weekend reunion with a bunch of friends to celebrate a milestone birthday! The home is beautiful and has everything you need for a great stay. The panoramic views were breathtaking and our group spent the majority of our stay in the living area soaking up the beauty. We had grand plans for making more use of the sport court and would've loved to use the pool (it was too cold), but this just makes it easier to plan a return stay in the future. Thanks to the hosts for sharing their beautiful hilltop retreat to guests!

Wonderful!

Lovely house in a hilltop setting. The oak trees were spectacular, offering welcome shade and adding greenery and character. Really enjoyed our week here. Well appointed kitchen and grill had everything we needed to serve up some memorable meals soaking up the serenity and the views.

Epic Family Getaway

Our family getaway to Lavender Hill was definitely one to remember.  This was for a joint birthday celebration for sister and mom, the perfect coming together place for our three families, ages ranging from 3yo to 80yo.  We enjoyed our time making meals together in the spacious kitchen and countless hours spent outdoors - on the swings, court, around the fire pit, in the hot tub, and exploring the overall grounds.  William was a fantastic host, so incredibly kind and thoughtful.  Extremely responsive to our needs and quick to respond to any question.  Unfortunately it was too cold for the pool but just another reason to look forward to a future stay.

Perfect girls weekend!

The property was perfect - so much space for a group of 10 girls for the weekend. Everything was perfectly clean and the beds were super comfortable. We booked a chef to come one night and the place had everything you’d ever need to entertain a group for dinner. William even helped us find a new chef to come last minute when the original person we booked got sick. Will definitely stay here again!!

The home/property is just beautiful with stunning views from the decks, patio and pool as well as from inside. The house and decor is also beautiful but feels like a home with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful views & responsive host

The property itself is showing some age, but you can't beat the views! We encountered a few issues, but the property owner and manager were impressively responsive. Just be prepared for a decent hike to the wineries. Overall, our family of 8 adults + infant had a wonderful stay.

The perfect place to gather

This is our second time renting Willian's home in Kenwood. This home is absolutely stunning and fully equipped with everything you need for a family or group of friends gathering. Fold-out bunk beds, 3 pack and plays, a high chair, tennis and pickle ball rackets, sidewalk chalk and great kitchen and bathroom products. Linens are great quality as well. Chateau St Jean and many other wineries are minutes away. We will absolutely rent this home again and will recommend it to others.Only issue is having things delivered: Amazon Fresh, Uber eats etc... do have difficulty finding the property, so be better prepared than we were and do your own grocery run :)

40th Birthday

We had three great nights at this property. Had a private chef come and the kitchen was perfect for that. The grounds were lovely too, and gave us plenty of opportunity to take in the beautiful scenery. I would absolutely come back.

Gorgeous Property

William's property was a spectacular property that sits literally above the clouds (at least the bucolic cloudline in the morning that blankets the valley floor vineyards). So much space to enjoy the outside (from swings, to pickleball/basketball courts, to hikes, to the pool), and a peaceful and welcoming inside. William was also a wonderful host - very responsive and kind. 10 out of 10.

Beautiful Home and Location!

We spent the weekend touring Napa and Sonoma and the house was perfect! The views and overall setting were more than we could have asked for. We hired a private chef for one of our dinners and the kitchen was the perfect setup! William was amazing in all communication and was very helpful. Definitely would come back and stay again! Lavender Hill House stay

Our multi-generation family group had a perfect stay at this lovely property. The quiet hilltop location felt remote and private, even though we were just minutes from Kenwood. The house is as comfortable as it is elegant with everything we needed right there. We played tennis and pickleball, made large meals together which we ate outside under the magestic oak trees, and splashed in or sat by the pool, mesmerized by the stunning views. It was conducive to connection and conversation for our group, as there was little need to leave.

Perfection at its best!

Our stay at the Kenwood country estate was a wonderful and memorable experience! The property was private and secluded and exactly as listed. We stayed over Thanksgiving week and although our food was catered, we found all the entertaining essentials to complement our meal and make us feel right at home. The weather was warm, so we were able to join in the local Turkey Trot, play pickle ball on the well equipped courts, ride bikes on local trails, and enjoy morning yoga while taking in the breathtaking views. The house was spotless, well stocked, and ready for relaxation and adventure. This property was by far one of our family favorites!

Family, Food and Wine

Beautiful home. Clean and comfortable. Amazing views. Kitchen is stocked and has great appliances. Most anything you need at the cute grocery in Glen Ellen (less than 10 mins). We played pickleball each morning, watched the wildlife right outside the door, pool time, had a Cuvee tours picked us up for wineries. Can't imagine a better trip. Super easy stay and they have little note cards for anything that may require instruction. Cheers to the owners!
