Kendal is an old market town famous for its festivals, historic sights including Kendal Castle, and is the home of Kendal Mint Cake. The Castle can be reached on foot if you’re feeling energetic, where you can enjoy a further 2-mile circular walk taking in the Castle on the Hill, and the River Kent. Situated only 10 minutes’ from the M6, Kendal is known as ’The Gateway to the Lakes’. In just 15 minutes’ by car, you’ll reach Windermere, Bowness-on Windermere and in 30 minutes, Ambleside.
