Disliked: Staff & service
I received a cancellation notice due to plumbing problems. Tried several times to contact the place and could not get through. Friends booked for the same night the day before our function and were given a room. I was extremely disappointed with the owners for not contacting me to see if I would still like a room if their plumbing was repaired. Their service is non existent
We booked through wotif, arrived at the property only to be told by very uninterested & unkempt manager that there was no room there for us- he was fully booked and would not listen when we said we had booked ahead and paid. “I hate these booking agencies” he told us. We had to, in the gloomy light, drive on frantically searching online as we drove. Eventually, 30 min later, we found somewhere: in the dark, very tired, very frustrated and humiliated by the experience
Pretty basic chalet on a holiday park. Close to a restaurant and bar and not far from Kaiapoi town which was lovely. The park manager was helpful and friendly and the room was clean. Bit close to the main highway for noise but we still slept okay.
The owner was lovely. But they need to service rooms, we didn’t get services at all the bed was very low so we put other mattress on top of the other one which was good but the need to clean under beds. Might have been the owner was on his own.
Even though we had booked and paid weeks ago he did not know what Studio (cabin) we would have. Initially shown into one that smelt as if something was rotting under the floor. Then to another that was a bit better. Even though we were expected the studio was not aired and it was stifling hot. Other peoples drivers licences were on show at the counter of the office. No privacy act adhered to here. The studio was anything but clean. We had to do dishes before we could use them. The tea towel was hanging on a very grubby wall. The shower curtain was mouldy. And the cobwebs in the bathroom show it either was roughly cleaned or not cleaned for ages. Theres a shaving plug in the bathroom however no mirror. I doubt the kitchenette floor was swept let alone washed. Lets not even discuss the chair on the balcony. Thank goodness we had no time to sit out there. Very disappointing.
Tidy wee rooms. Mattress is a bit uncomfortable though

Painfull stay at pineacres
Room was very simple, and lacked comfort.
No carpet or mats on floor, and no air conditioning had a negative impact on the
Floor by fridge had yucky gooy stains..
Units a little too compact for our comfort. Shower/toilet facility very cramped. Bed double size only and jammed against the wall on one side. Not comfortable. TV small and difficult to watch - website says office open until 10 pm however it was closed when we arrived at 9.15 pm. Person who arrived didn't know we had booked, had to eftpos the charge and found later it had been debited from my credit card also. Got one charge refunded though.
Because there were just the 2 of us, we were given a very small 6 sided tin hut. There were 2 bedrooms, but in both the beds were up against the tin wall, which was ice-cold to the touch on a frosty morning.
Also because we were at the front of the section, the traffic noise from State Highway 1 was terrible. I was still awake
at 2.30 am.
This is probably a good place for Back Packers, although the bigger rooms may be a lot better, and quieter as they are
further away.
Very small space for the price. No night stand for glasses. Very noisy toilet pipes after flushing.Disturbing at night.
Very small 2 seater not big enough for 2 people.
