Great location and professional management

Everything we expected.

Very few times when you see something online is what you can expect but I am happy to say this was one of those times that what you see is what you get! The condo looks exactly as advertised. It was perfect for our family. Great pools and beach access. Definitely will be issuing this property again!

Decent, not Amazing

We have been to Maui many many times, typically stay at the Westin Villas nearby. We decided to try Honua Kai since we always walked by. Beautiful property first and foremost. However, we found the pools area to be compact, which made it crowded. Sadly enough, never used the pool area bc we could never find seating. The Unit itself was decent. Except the beds were not that comfortable, especiallly the sofa bed. Made a ton do noise even if you moved an inch. The water pressure in the shower was terrible. The dryer did not work, it turns on but the heating function does not heat. So we were stuck with wet clothes after washing. And lastly, perhaps we were used to the service at Westin, but in order to request anything, we seem to get a really no help. We still enjoyed our stay it’s Maui, but unfortunately I would not stay in here again.

Impeccable condo with all amenities, great restaurant on-site, great location!

The condo was even better in person than in pictures! Everything you need for cooking, dining and going to the beach is there. The whole condo looks new w/ great kitchen, nice view of the property. Bathroom was very spacious and bed was comfortable, there are extra pillows, blankets etc. Unit also has a w/d. The complex itself has a fancy coffee shop, small grocery store (large grocery store is 3 min drive away), Duke's restaurant w/ delicious food and located on the beach. Ideal for families but we are a couple and enjoyed staying here as well. Would stay here again.

I can't say enough about the place and would HIGHLY recommend it for your stay on Maui!!

Fun times

We have always loved Honia Kia, especially on the south side as it gets sun on the porch. This condo was great, easy access to stairs, good views of ocean, and wonderful staff to meet us. Only criticism was that with the construction next door, the porch was constantly dusty and the dust came into the condo. Nobody's fault.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed enjoyed the resort along with the location of the resort. We enjoyed having Duke’s Beachside Restaurant available for meals. Thoroughly enjoyed Whalers Village for more dining and shopping. The unit itself is in a great, quiet location which we enjoyed. The kitchen was stocked with cooking ware but it may could use some updated everyday utensils. We would stay here again. Like they say in Hawaii: ALOHA CURES EVERYTHING.

Reviewer Comments: This rental unit was clean, updated, in an awesome location for snorkeling off the beach, and equipped with everything you might need for a good vacation. We did lack access to the balcony due to painting on the first day but it was resolved quickly and I believe we were refunded some due to this. The floors might have needed a mop due to the workers as well but absolutely situational. We loved cooking at home but there was a great restaurant on the property. The concierge Leah was incredible, booking us the most memorable experiences. We would absolutely stay again!

Home in Paradise!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our recent stay at Honua Kai Resort & Spa was amazing. The photos are exactly what you see in real life. The hosts were welcoming (via text) and seemed to be helpful & available if we needed anything, but honestly, we didn't need anything from them during our stay. Having a well-equipped kitchen and washer/dryer was perfect. We had clean clothes when we returned home! We ate all our dinners at home and loved the aspect of opening up the entire wall to eat outside. The location of the resort was convenient to downtown Lahaina and its go-see landmarks. The grounds were spectacular and visually a postcard moment. We felt right at home and when Hurricane Olivia came through on our last day in Maui, it was very convenient to have the market/coffee shop open in the lobby!! Love the accessibility in general! I would definitely return to this resort or recommend to others thinking of going to this side of the island.

Honua Kai Hokulani 214 was Fantastic

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here (2 adults) Oct 2 - 14. The condo was perfectly clean. I have severe food allergies— so prefer to cook all of my meals rather than risk it at restaurants. The kitchen was perfectly appointed with everything I would need to cook all of my meals. It even had 2 types of coffee pots, and 2 blender options! And as someone with food allergies, I can’t stress enough it was CLEAN! The parking garage was easy to access, and easy to find a parking spot. The unit was not far from the elevator or stairs. Being only on the second floor we used the stairs quite a bit. The patio was private from next door neighbors, and far enough away from the Westin that we could never see into their condos. We could barely see people even on their patios. The unit was quiet! And the patio is protected from wind. It faces directly south, so you get partial sun on the patio all day— my hubby sat in the sun, and I put my chair in the shade. Perfect! The condo had plenty of towels, a cooler and beach chairs for our use, plastic glasses for pool/beach etc. It was great! The only thing that wasn’t 100%, was that the can opener really sucked. Seriously, that’s it. Everything else was on point! The property managers were super nice, easy to get ahold of, and very accommodating! Check in and out was a breeze. Honua Kai resort is really nice. Has a good mix of pools and private spaces. Kanaapali north is not too busy, overall a good location. The beach gets deeper and calmer as you head a bit south down the beach. We walked several miles every morning and would always choose to swim just south of Honua Kai. It was the nicest part of the whole Kanaapali beach, calm and serene.

Honua Kai is our favorite

We love the location and amenities. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the condo but when we did it was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable.

Perfect Vacation Spot

We enjoyed our stay at the Honua Kai Resort in Maui. The unit was spacious, and clean. We had plenty of activities to do nearby. We had an incident with the internet one day but it was resolved quickly. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely unit

My family stayed here as an extension to our vacation. We liked this unit more than the one we rented prior in the same resort. The layout is perfect, the unit was clean, comfortable, and was equipped with everything you need. The view is great for the price, I enjoyed my coffee on the balcony with the ocean & the mountains while my family snoozed away. The only issue we had was the first night, we went to close the lanai doors and one of the handles snapped off. We hadn’t had any issues with the doors in the previous unit, so I believe the handle was just worn. We let the property manager know and it was fixed the next day while we were out enjoying the day. Overall it was a great unit & we would stay there again.

Perfect Rental for a Family!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I am originally from Maui and looked for a rental that I could bring my family back for a vacation. The unit had everything that we could have wanted, and then some! This rental exceeded our expectations! What really made this unit stand out was all the little details. Upon arrival, the unit was cooled, cleaned and had a nice welcome gift. It included a pack & play and high chair for the little one, sand toys, coolers, plastic cups for the beach/pool, well stocked kitchen and bath supplies (soaps, trash bags, detergents, etc.), beach chairs and umbrellas, a Keurig AND coffee maker, and all the necessary kitchen utensils. From a location standpoint, it was close to trash/recycling, close to the stairs for easy access to the garage, close to the elevator to get down to the beach and pool and the lanai had a view of both the mountains and ocean. The Hawaii Life staff was also great! They provided clear information regarding the unit and the check-in and check-out process. During our stay they were available to answer any questions we had. We did have broken umbrellas in our unit, and they staff had them replaced within hours!We definitely would recommend this property to fiends & family and will surely be back!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Withheld my security deposit for cleaning that is a made up excuse not to refund. They would not take any proof nor proof us that it wasn’t there before we showed up. Many actual review would show that this is a common practice of this company. Stay away. Oh to top it of, they gave you the wrong address and when you do arrive, their 24/7 support isn’t available. Just don’t. Pick a reputable company.

Immaculate! Great stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Family of 4 (myself, 3 kids ages 12-16) stayed here and wished we never had to leave. As a VRBO owner myself, I notice everything, and this unit was immaculate! It was well stocked with everything we needed and even had brand-new appliances. The owners were communicative and quick to respond. The resort itself was well maintained and had several pools appropriate for all different ages. The older kids liked to walk around and head to the food trucks nearby for "snacks" and to the pizza place just across the road. We enjoyed so many adventures-too many to list (paragliding, snuba, surf lessons, cliff jumping, black rock beach). We can't wait to come back. What a great find!

Excellent Location!

Spacious, well maintained unit at a beautiful resort. Nice quiet side of the building and lovely balcony where you can sip your morning coffee, and have a glass of wine at the end of the day. This was my second visit to this resort and I highly recommend.
