Stay in a restored one-room schoolhouse built in 1880, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This unique cabin near Mohican State Park, Amish Country, and Snow Trails. Sleeps 4 with a cozy lofted sleeping area (two queen beds, both upstairs in the loft). Enjoy an indoor fireplace, large laser screen projector TV, and a secluded hammock. Dog-friendly and full of historic charm, it's the perfect mix of comfort, character, and convenience for a relaxing getaway.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property, less the closet next to the kitchen.
Other things to note
Please note that the schoolhouse is supplied by well water, and because of that we suggest bringing bottled water for drinking, cooking, and making coffee.
Dog Policy: For insurance reasons, there are certain dog breeds which we can not allow at the property. Prohibited dog breeds include – Akita, Chow, Pit Bull or Staffordshire Terrier, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Shar-pei and Wolf Hybrid or a mix of any of the breeds mentioned.
The booking party must be physically present throughout the duration of the stay.
No underage consumption of alcohol on the property.
The schoolhouse is not baby-proofed.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT
In consideration of your use of the property, you expressly agree and contract that Happy Properties, II, LLC and its owner(s) ("Released Parties") shall be released and shall not be liable for any damages, claim, liability or demand of any kind resulting from any injury, illness, medical condition or complication, or damage or loss (including death) of any kind to any guests or to their property or any property in their possession, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties, the acts or omissions of other persons or other third parties, or otherwise, except as otherwise prohibited by applicable law.
As a condition of enjoying the privilege of staying at our property, the guests accept and voluntarily assume all risks and hazards which may cause injury, illness, or medical condition or complication, damage or loss to any of the guests or to the guests’ property, while the guests or their property is in, on or traveling to or from the property.
Additionally, you agree to indemnify and hold Released Parties harmless from all losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees and other litigation costs and expenses) incurred by any of the Released Parties as a result of any claims or suits that I (or anyone claiming by, under or through me) may bring against any of the Released Parties to recover any losses, liabilities, costs, damages, or expenses which arise during or result from my use and enjoyment of the property.
Additionally, the booking party acknowledges and agrees that they are fully responsible and liable for any acts, damages, or losses caused to the property by themselves or any members of their party, including but not limited to guests, visitors, or any other individuals they permit on the premises. The booking party further agrees that they are responsible and liable for any injuries, harm, or accidents sustained by any members of their party while on the property, regardless of the cause. The booking party agrees to indemnify and hold Released Parties harmless from any claims, actions, or expenses arising from any damages, injuries, or losses caused by or to members of their party.
By booking the property, you agree that you have carefully read, reviewed, and agree to be bound by the terms of this RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT.
PESTS
The schoolhouse is surrounded by the woods and nature. Although we implement controls for critters, we cannot guarantee that they won’t sometimes make it inside. By booking the schoolhouse, you agree that no refunds or adjustments will be provided due to bugs, pests, critters, etc. that may be inside the schoolhouse during your stay.
ACTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
Guests staying at the property acknowledge that refunds are not available for issues arising from power outages, internet disruptions, or other acts of God, as well as events beyond the owner’s control. While we strive to provide a comfortable experience, these unforeseen circumstances can occur, and guests accept that such situations do not warrant a refund.
