Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location in a perfect small coastal town. Person who checked us in even pointed us to a great restaurant in town that was one of the best meals of our trip. Will stay here again, one day!

We loved our stay at the Grey Whale. As others noted, the restaurant isn't open and the breakfast offering is a real disappointment. I recommend not waiting for the office to open for the 'continental breakfast' (there isn't coffee in the office either). Just go across the street to the coffee house or bring your own breakfast.

Nice old cottage room. Comfortable bed, pot bellied propane stove header, balcony 20ft above edge of Russian River. No air conditioning and heated by sun to 80 F in March, so warm months would be problematic. Only restaurant in town closes at 4pm.
