"From some other reviews I feel like people may have unrealistic expectations. I see it as a place to shower and sleep, and it did just that! It's definitely got that vintage dated charm. Don't expect luxury. No breakfast, but the cute offer was either a frozen burrito or freshly made mini donuts which were delivered to the door. There were some suspicious hairs in the bath tub and the mattress and pillows weren't the most comfortable, but the room had everything I needed. It was super spacious, had a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, and microwave, and a large bathroom. It was just what you need to sleep and shower to stay to visit caves and Big Trees State Park."

"The staff was friendly. The room was okay…the carpet had a lot of stains on it and so did the couch. When we went down for breakfast, there were 4 rotting apples just sitting on the counter in front of everyone which was kind of off putting. If they could put out rotting apples and not even notice, it made us wonder about the other food. We did not do the breakfast for our next morning there. There were also quite a bit of dead bugs in the pool that we were constantly swooshing aside to avoid touching or getting in our hair while swimming."

"For me, thinking this small town would be a peaceful good night's sleep was wrong, A car show event was scheduled apparently for Saturday ( I didn't know this when I booked), and apparently a group of Harley's stayed at this motel. Outside chatter continued past 11 pm, and the manager apparently had no issue with it. Small parking lot, and had a truck and trailer parked so close to my door, I had to squeeze to get around it to get to my door (Room 217). And if the noise didn't keep you up that night, it was followed by Harleys and hotrods firing up and idling early before departure to get the special spot on main street. The bed was firm and the two pillows were about 3 to 4 inches thick when fluffed. No sleep for me even with ear plugs. Picture is the view from my front door at 10:20 pm."
