In fall, sunny days and cooler evenings bring beautiful fall foliage to harvest season and in winter find a fireplace over the holidays in historic towns or snowshoe at Crater Lake or ski Mt. Ashland.
-Britt Festival (Music Festival); located in the historic 1850s gold rush town of Jacksonville, Oregon (USA), Britt presents dozens of summer concerts, featuring world-class artists in classical music, jazz, blues, folk, bluegrass, world, pop and country music. -Applegate Lake; this picturesque 988-acre Applegate Lake is nestled in the heart of the Applegate Valley, and north of the Red Buttes Wilderness Area. Rafting, boating, fishing, etc! -Vineyards; the only designated sub-AVA in the Rogue Valley, the Applegate’s vineyards range from 1,000 to 1,500 feet elevation. Warmer and drier than the Illinois Valley to the west but less so than the Southern Rogue Valley to the east, loads of varieties thrive here. There are over 20 Vineyards in the Applegate Valley alone!

We really enjoyed our stay in this cute, nicely appointed place in the country. It is very comfortable and welcoming. We were greeted by deer and wild turkeys when we arrived and again the next morning! Downtown Jacksonville is just a quick trip away, and Ashland and Medford are only a bit further. We plan on coming back!
We loved our stay at the cottage! It has everything you need and the owner has put in a lot of care to see that her guest are comfy. Added perks: great coffee, bathroom toiletries, welcoming bottle of wine, fenced yard and provided poop bags for your furry friends. We loved seeing the wild turkeys and deer roaming about. Very quiet and peaceful setting and VERY CLEAN! We hope to be back.
We were very happy with our stay at the Guches Ranch! The property was very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. It was perfect for my family and I.
This is a very nice property. Secluded and quiet location. Easy to get to. Deer, quail and other wildlife right outside.
The house was squeaky clean, nicely furnished and well stocked. Loved the robes. Comfortable beds.
Parking right in front.
The owner lives next door and was very helpful and responsive.
The best location for viewing all of the popular attractions in the area. Brand new cottage on a family ranch close to the historic town of Jacksonville. Absolutely the best VRBO we stayed in this year (#1 of 13). VRBO should use this property as an instructional video for those who want to turn their home or apt. into a vacation rental; and how to do it the right way. Everything was perfect about the Cottage and the Guches Ranch was the great location for this part of our trip. A hidden gem to stay for day trips to Crater Lake, Grants Pass, Redwood Park & Klamath Falls, or getting away from it all. The hosts make their guests feel like family.
I booked this home as it was located in Jacksonville and we were there to visit as many wineries as we could during our visit. While you may feel a bit like "what the heck" when you are driving up the dirt road to the home, when you step inside, you will know you made the right choice!
I was greeted with a welcome text from the owner, a bottle of wine, and the perfect size coffee cups for us to keep as mementos of our trip.
The house looks brand new and all of the appliances worked (not always the case when renting a home). The beds were amazingly comfortable. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor amenities as the weather was in winter mode.
I can't wait to recommend this lovely tiny home to anyone looking to visit in the area and come back again with my husband and dogs in the spring/summer.
Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable by being the "hosts with the most". :)
You can't go wrong here. Great care and love given inside and out to this well stocked and cared for rental. It is a rare find! Hosts are fabulous as well!
