"le loueur est un homme charmant qui a des choses très intéressantes à raconter sur son amours des chevaux. Le gite est d'une propreté impeccable et dans un endroit isolé mais à un quart d'heure des courses et une demi-heure de la sous préfecture où il y a tout ce qu'on veut y compris cinéma, théâtre, manifestations festives et culturelles etc.. le hic ce sera la canicule qui ne relève pas de la responsabilité du propriétaire! Bref, excellent séjour."

"Staff were all very kind, helpful and professional. Hotel was clean and rooms smaller need some updating but comfortable. Breakfast in the hotel lobby was adequate and tasty. Dinner in an adjoining restaurant was reasonably priced and surprisingly good. Parking right out front under big shady sycamore trees. No sprinklers so most grass and landscaping is distressed unfortunately. This is the case in most of SW France during the summer. The property was very accommodating for both me and my service dog."

The gardens are beautifully kept, the swimming pool is peaceful and inviting, and every corner of the property reflects the care and attention devoted to maintaining this exceptional château. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the beautiful medieval village of Monpazier, with its charming market and picturesque streets just steps away. Private parking is convenient, making it an ideal base for exploring the region. Every detail exceeded our expectations. This is far more than a hotel—it’s an experience. Without hesitation, it’s one of the very best places you can stay in the Dordogne, and we can’t wait to return. Highly, highly recommended."

With choices Good value at €10 . Staff very friendly and helpful Good location . In between station and old town. 5 minute walk either way. Would definitely stay again"

400-Year-Old Stone House In Lovely Medieval Market Village - Dordogne SW France

"The house and garden are great and recently renovated on the ground floor but retain old charm on other floors. It is a quiet location in the village but easy to access anywhere. The house is very old and has ancient wooden spiral stairs to all floors, which I found difficult, especially to the top floor as there is a very large step; young children and anyone with leg issues may struggle. As may not be clear from the details the only toilet and bathroom are on the ground floor. This is an ideal base to explore the village and the area, everything in the village is a very short walk away on the flat. The free car park is a minutes walk as is the Spa shop, with bakery, bars cafes and restaurants 2 minutes away. The village comes alive on a Sunday for the market and then needs a couple of days to get over it when it is very quiet. The owners have done an exhaustive guide to the house and area and responded very quickly to any queries."
