This was a decent bed and breakfast but a little far from Inverness centre, about a 15 minute walk on quite a busy street with mix of houses and businesses. Public transportation in Inverness is not reliable and pretty limited schedule so it’s not the most convenient place if you don’t have a vehicle. Two grocery stores nearby and with a fridge in room and guest microwave we did find that useful. We did not see any nearby eating establishments within walking distance. So you need to plan and eat in the center before coming back for the evening otherwise you’re doing a lot of walking. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. Eggs, toast, sausage, bacon , beans, tomato and selection of cereal, yogurt. We were provided bag breakfasts on two days when we had an early start which was an egg sandwich, fruit, juice and granola bar.
This bed and breakfast is very tired looking with outdated decor, but it was clean enough. There are Steep stairs to navigate with luggage so if you have mobility issues this isn’t the place for you, It was a good size room with closet and a desk and chair, Only met the owner very briefly, otherwise dealt with staff who were friendly enough.
I’m not sure if all bed and breakfasts in Scotland are like this but it felt very impersonal. North American bed and breakfasts are more about talking to the owner, getting hints and tips for the area and feeling like you can learn a bit from a local.
