A hidden gem really. Nice gentleman on phone and also at check in. Quiet. Surrounding property gave me a little hesitation but overall very pleasant. Over head light in room wouldn’t turn off….oh well.

Just the right stop on a bitter cold night

The Royal provided me with a comfortable late-night stay after 3 days of train & bus travel. The price was right, the room was warm (when it was 1 degree F outside!), & the host was friendly--especially after she learned that she'd once attended college in my small hometown. A pleasant stay.

The room was exceptionally clean. Initially, I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by its comfort. As we were unable to secure a room in Bloomington for graduation. we opted for Martinswale, where Royal provided a clean and quiet stay.

This is an old-fashioned walk-up motel. It has a lot of character. The room was very clean. The bathroom had updated fixtures and was very clean. The beds were comfortable. It suited our needs well for an overnight stay.
