This property is a warm roomy house with beautiful views from both inside the house and the back yard. There is a game room downstairs which is great for kids and adults alike. Our back there are multiple sitting and dining options all with views of the river behind the property. the backyard includes a large fire pit and hot tub under a gazebo. The owner was always available to communicate with. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms it is a great house for families. Within 5-15 minutes are multiple ski slopes and snow tubing.

Ski weekend with family

Overall we enjoyed our stay but there were a few things about the home that were underwhelming. The biggest thing for us was the water running through the showers and toilets had a really foul odor. One of the bedrooms is a loft above the living room, so if you have young kids that you needed to sleep there it would be problematic. The stairs up to the loft made us nervous with our 2 year old as the baluster spacing was wide enough for him to fall through. Two of the doors to the backyard were secured with 2x4 lumber which was odd. The home was clean and well-kept, and the river views were beautiful.

Amazing hunter river cabin retreat

The hunter river cabin is a gem! We had a family gathering for 8 adults for a 4 night stay! This property has everything anyone could ask for when you are looking to relax for a few days! The cabin was very clean and very spacious! It had 3 beautifully updated tiled bathrooms and some new mini-split units with remotes to help keep us cool on when we were sleeping, or inside. The owners we very responsive, replying within a few minutes for any questions i had and making sure that we had everything needed for a great time! We really enjoyed the deck off off the main floor and the tucked away deck downstairs that kept us dry when it started raining! When you come inside from the downstairs deck, you have cool game room( pool table, darts, and a ton of board games). Off from the game room is a large screen tv with a great chill area and a bar( sink and a mini fridge) pretty sweet!!! When you step into the back yard there was vollyball net setup, which unfortunately we didn't use because we were too pre occupied with the beautiful mountain views, the deck on the schoharie river, a sauna( with dunk tank) and hot tub! Really, this place is a slice of heaven!Great location! This place is only a few minutes from hunter mountain! Plenty of things to do, hiking, small quaint town, nice restaurants! We did the rail explorers in phoencia, what a great time! I hope to come back here for a snowboard getaway this winter! I just cant say enough about this property! You will love it!
