The free WiFi did not work. There was no staff around the provide assistance. The television in our room had very poor to nil reception. The telephone number for assistance or emergencies did not work. The included breakfast was non existent.
Highly recommend! If you're looking for a hotel with lovely rooms and comfortable beds, and within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and parks, then, this is the place to stay. On arrival, expect to be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from Tony, John and Dawn, who are always willing to go that extra mile, to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one! Would definitely stay again.
I was there just one night. The hotel is nice and well maintained. The personnel is very very kind. Everything was OK. The position is rather central.

It was disappointing that the internet access was so poor, there was no phone in the room; everytime I needed something, I had to leave the room and go down to the front desk for assistance. The television had no channels. The gentleman at the desk spent 40 minutes trying to retune it
He finally called someone who walked him through what to do and was able to get 3 channels. The best thing about the hotel was its location in proximity to the University and the staff.
I couldn't fault the rooms at all, super clean and very spacious! The lady on checkout in the morning was very helpful and informative.
However, my friend and I arrived at the hotel and was greeting buy a chap on the check-in. We we're informed we booked on the wrong day and if we wanted to stay the night we had to pay an extra £40. As we had no other option we had to pay. Apparently the card machine wasn't working so I had to pay cash.. I was okay with this until I noticed the guy put the £40 in his pocket. I questioned him about an invoice and he said the lady will deal with it in the morning.
When I received the invoice, the total was £45 which I originally paid through expedia and the £40 cash was nowhere to be seen ; it appears that the chap took the £40 for himself. I was happy to pay the extra to stay but when it goes into someone else's pocket, I just feel like I've been scammed.
Great 2 night stay in Hotel. Reception staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Room was well equipped and clean. A minor issue which is easily resolved is to put a mirror in the bedroom to use when blow drying your hair.
Unfortunately unable to get BBC channels on TV despite the very helpful guy on reception putting on a new ariel and retuning the channels. Netflix on tv was a great addition as was the very good wifi.
Good value for money.
Huddersfield Hotel is a great hotel in so many ways. No fuss check-in and check-out. Staff are helpful and the room is big, clean and well stocked. Location is perfect, literally at the doorstep of the town / shopping area / a supermarket. The train station is also only about 6-7 minutes slow walk away.
Well done Huddersfield Hotel, keep up the standards and will definitely stay here again.

It was absolutely clean
Nice hotel
But noisy neighbors with loud music
Not recommended for weekends
No restaurant facilities for breakfast, or snacks, very noisy next to a live venue, which was still noisey at 3.00am. No bathplug, had to ask, Bath water was lukewarm. Expensive for the room, location and facilities. Wouldn’t recommend.
Easy walking distance from the station. Located centrally with lots of places to eat nearby. The room was very clean, lovely hot shower. The staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I'd stay here again. (The only negative was the awful smell in the lift - but it wouldn't put me off returning)
Beds were comfy, good facilities. Would be best if it was quieter in the mornings because it’s near a main road, cars are loud in the early hours. But overall good
