Along one of the many beaches of Hua Hin, Thailand, sits a tiny peninsula that houses Wat Khao Takiab. Like most temples, a statue of Buddha is displayed in some shape or form. Here the statue is one of a standing Buddha with the palms of both hands upright and facing outwards, called “Repelling the Oceans”. One common meaning of this posture is the belief that on a visit to India, Buddha used the power of meditation to repel a wall of water that was unleashed by a hermit in hopes to cause a flood. 6 nights on the top floor room facing The ocean. Spacious room and clean. Furniture average and beds comfortable. Standard amenities. Walk to the beachfront. It felts like our own villa as we were the only customer in this low season. This place is a gem. If they update the room furnitures it is a 5* deal for the price of a 3*. The staff is amazing 🙏

Old but good,

Thanks to hotel.com problems occured during check in.First of all we had to pay 20$ for other dog,then we had to pay 17$ to change the room because we didn't contact the hotel to tell them we bring a dog.Nothing on hotels.com website told us we have to contact the hotel before arriving,nothing on the website we have to pay 20$ for the dog.We got new room we didn't like it.After discussing for 15 minutes they gave us another room,but for me this holiday was destroyed already.Thank you hotels.com Hotel is a bit older but in good condition and well maintained.Location is the best,pool is nice,room had a good size and was clean and bright.Breakfast was ok,nothing fancy,be aware of rooming monkeys they come in the morning looking for food and grab everything watch your valuables

I udkanten af byen, men alligevel fantastisk placering den hotellet ligger helt ned til en super god strand, 10 minutters gang til en anden strand. Lå lige ved en bakketop med restaurant med dejlig mad, og hvor vi bla oplevede at en abe pludselig hoppede fra taget ned på bortdet. Oppe på bakketoppen var der mange aber. Der er hele tiden tuk-tuk's som kan køre ind til byen. Dette sted besøger vi gerne igen.

Extra nice and helpful staff.

An older hotel on the nice secluded beach. Staff was really nice and helpful on all issues. I saw the fireworks on the nice beach with hardly anyone around. Perfect new year celebration on the beach with wine.

Hyggelig og grei personale. Rent og ryddig på hotellet. Frokosten er enkel og vanlig uten noe spesielt. Flott beliggenhet med tanke på strand, rolig område men litt avsidesliggende og en del skur og dårlige bygg i nabolaget.

Great for beach going.

Easy walk to the ocean, or you can stay in the outdoor lobby and look over it. Clean, comfortable rooms with enough space to stretch out. Fine service.

Would repeat even though construction at takiab

Liked the hotel very much even though there are some drawbacks: aircon in my room needs cleaning (smells mouldy), noisy construction sites nearby, umbrellas and recliners near the pool are too heavy to move. Pros: very nice team working at hotel, perfect cleaning of room, beautiful design of hotel garden and sun deck. Abundant breakfast. Perfect location directly on the beach, next to Takiab mountain, its temples and monkeys. The sea water isnt very clean in hua hin in general, but the beach is still nice. In february 2018, there are noisy constructions going up next to the mountain but the hotel is actually the first nice one that is decently far away so that construction noise is ok. Would go again.

Rolig og scenisk lille sted

Fantastisk lille sted, meget intimt og familiært, helt ud til det flotteste hav/strand. Hvis man vil have ro, er det hertil man skal tage. Sengene var lidt hårde - det er min eneste negative ting at sige om dette sted. Stedet ligger lidt udenfor Hua Hin så hvis man vil have byens liv ved siden af er det nok ikke stedet.
