Staff was very friendly. The rooms are spacious with lots of amenities. It is a newer building outside of the downtown area. It would be a great place to stay for a few days while visiting the area. Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 night.

Everything was super.clean from the lobby to the room! Staff was polite and efficient. We go up to the UP every year for vacation and we will stay at the Independence from now on everytime. Super impressed with that hotel!

We had very clean, quiet rooms with plenty of parking. The hotel offers some fresh fruit, microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, and fresh fruit. Each room had a small kitchen sink, microwave, and fridge. There was even an option for onsite laundry. Location was conveniently located in town and near a Wal-Mart.
