「I was cycling camping through Norway but hit a patch of terrible weather and found the nearest hotel and that turned out to be the marvelous Grand. Idk but something about this place is so compelling and downright charming. There are so many marvelous details and the breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel in Scandinavia. I give them ten billion stars」

「Gamlebyen hotell er kjempekoselig, gjennomført innredet i gammel stil. Personalet tok varmt imot meg, og ga inntrykk av å være oppriktig glade i å jobbe der. Frokosten ble servert på Værk, rett rundt hjørnet for hotellet, en enkel, men innbydende buffet i rolig atmosfære. Jeg satte pris på at det ikke var den vanlige køkaoset ved frokosten, men mulighet for å nyte måltidet med lave skuldre.」
