About this property
Prime Location! Park your car. Walk and bike everywhere!
We look forward to sharing our dream home and community with you.
We are literally one block from town and secluded on a quiet section of Sherman Avenue. The stairs leading into town are 100 yards away.
Start your day with an adventure, with coffee in bed or within a couple of blocks you'll have several cafes to chose from. After coffee, its a 10-15 minute walk to the beach.
You'll also want to check out the shops and have some wine or beer at the many wine tasting bars and brew pubs. Return to freshen up for dinner then walk back down and enjoy our local PNW cuisine. No problem if you get a little tipsy. Its an easy walk home.
No expense was spared in building our home and your studio.
You'll sleep soundly on a new Parklane king-size bed that actually splits into two twins. Just ask for us to split them. Its no problem.
The space is open, airy and partially sub-terrain. You'll like how it naturally maintains a pleasant temperature. Even though it is set back into the hillside you are elevated from the road providing a better view and sense of privacy.
You have your own private entrance and completely separate living quarters. You are not sharing your space with us.
Jon loves to wing, kite, road bike, mountain bike, hike, dirt bike, snowmobile, snowboard, alpine ski, cross country ski, snowshoe, SUP and kayak.
Nancy is learning how to wing, does yoga every day, road bikes, hikes, cross country skis, snowshoes, kayak's and SUP's.
Just let us know what you'd like to do and what your interests are. We'll let you know where to go and provide some local tips.
We have a secret breezeway for you to store your bikes, boards, etc., and a great place to let your wetsuits hang dry. We've also got a hot and cold water spigot out front to hose anything off.
We've been Hood River residents since 1993. Nancy is a native Oregonian.
We hope to see you soon!

Jon was so great and easy to work with. The location was amazing. The house was perfect for our little getaway. It was so clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! We would 100% stay here again.
This space was wonderful! Highlight was being walking distance to town and the hosts are really great people. Would recommend to anyone for a weekend getaway!
I had a lovely stay at Jon and Nancy's studio unit. I was right next door to my friends' home whom I was visiting, able to walk right down into town within minutes, and enjoyed three nights of restful sleep. The space is clean and functional which allowed me space to work and relax. I would definitely return if I need a place to stay in Hood River!
The check in process was super easy and the space was perfect for our extended weekend visit for a wedding. Very conveniently located and just steps from the downtown area! The apartment was very clean and comfy and we would definitely recommend!
Great location and amenities. I appreciated the effort to keep the property maintained, but some unexpected activity during my stay — including outdoor noise and a last-minute early checkout request — made the experience less relaxing than I’d hoped. Just sharing for awareness.
Couldn't have been better! Great communication and kind host, great location, great coffee, great studio. Everything you could want for a nice stay in Hood River!
Great location, friendly property owner who gave us tips about the area. Comfortable beds and felt very secure with our stay. Thank you John we really had a great time visiting Oregon!

We had a very pleasant stay! Clean, comfortable, and excellent location near downtown!
The owners, Jon and Nancy, were just finishing the spruce up when we arrived. VERY nice folks. They were welcoming and accommodating. The unit was well appointed and well cared for. Everything was clean. Downtown is just a few minutes away on foot, even closer on a bike. We would recommend and will rent again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We stayed for 2 nights very comfortable bed. Location was perfect parked the car and walked into town, climbed the 413 stairs up the hill to a nice hike by the river. Great views of the river from the room. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
This is my second time staying at White Cap and it's still a great place. The location in town is ideal - close to excellent dining and fun bars, yet on a quiet street. The unit is very comfortable and has everything you need for a home base. Many thanks to the attentive hosts!
As advertised-small space but comfortable. Great for one person.

great little studio!
This was a perfect spot to stay for the weekend in Hood River. Super close walk to the "downtown" road. Had a really comfy bed, was nice and bright, and had what I needed (no full kitchen, but great for short stay). Thanks for a lovely stay!
The listing description accurately describes the property. Parking was very convenient and easy close to downtown. Very short walk to winery tasting rooms and food. Check in process was easy. The room had all the needed amenities and was clean. Bed was very comfortable. We had an opportunity to meet the owners, they were very pleasant and kind.
Had a wonderful 1 year anniversary weekend. The property was perfect. This was such a cozy place for us with perfect walking access to DT Hood River and to the event site/sandbar for our water activities. Couldn’t have asked for better hosting and cleanliness. Truly enjoyed this property, and will for sure return again soon!
We flew into Portland for a wedding in Hood River and needed a convenient place to stay. Upon entry, we noticed how clean the condo was, and how cute it was decorated. Because it was so conveniently located to the downtown area it was a great location for walking to lunch and dinner. We also enjoyed driving over to the Tanamadas (sp.) hiking trail which was absolutely gorgeous! After the Wedding, we took an extra day to drive over to Cannon Beach. Got some great photos of: Haystack Rock & watching the local dogs play in the sand. We would highly recommend this condo again! 😁
Large, clean, modern studio unit. Great location, just a few block walk to all the downtown shops. Ideal street parking in front of the unit. Owners are in the 2 story building above. They are super nice, and go with your flow: if you want info, they are really helpful with advise on the city, and places to eat, info on watersports. Front porch is a great place for a morning coffee or afternoon drink. Quiet, safe street. Would stay here again for sure. Nice trees and wooded street, so during our summer visit did not have a view of the river.
