Live a Piece of History at My Hilo Home
Enter the home onto the grand lanai (porch) which is fully screened in and offers a view of the manicured acre with Hilo Bay views in the distance. Through the front doors you'll be greeted by our huge living room. The original hardwood floors and plantation era architectural details are unique to Hilo homes from the 1920s and 1930s. This huge living area books on history and art of Hawaii, a large flat-screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi internet and luxurious lounging area big enough for your whole family. NOTE: there are no TV channels so bring your streaming login info!
There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms in the home that are artfully decorated with historic representations of 'old Hawaii'. The kitchen at the back of the house is bright and full of windows to take in your Hawaiian landscape. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you may need to cook a big meal or heat up your restaurant leftovers. Seating for 8 at the dining table and seating for 6 at the kitchen table with additional seating on the lanai.
My Hilo Home is planted with lots of tropical fruiting trees and plants. Enjoy juicy pineapples from our pineapple patch in summer months, tangy lychee from our ancient lychee tree in spring and citrus in the winter. There is also a breadfruit tree for those adventurous travelers who want to try a unique starch (please follow in-house instructions on preparing the difficult fruit!).
Four comfortable bedrooms line one side of the private home. Three of the bedrooms have queen size beds and the fourth has two twin beds (max occupancy is 8 guests). Each of the two bathrooms has a marble shower and one bathroom has a small bathtub. A pack-n-play is available for our guests with babies. The kitchen has an electric cook-top, electric oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and washer/dryer for laundry. All kitchen dishes and small appliances are available for your use. The house is immaculately cleaned between guests (at check-out) and mid-stay cleaning is an optional add-on.

Beautiful property very close to Hilo Town. We loved exploring the variety of fruit trees on the property and watching wild life from the lanai. Our friends and family said it was a trip to remember.
A few hiccups but the commincation was good and we got things resolved. Beautiful plantation house and grounds. Very private and lots of room for a family of 7.
We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful home. The kitchen and view were sensing and extremely well equipped with everything we could need. So much attention to detail to make a comfortable stay.

Wonderful historic home very near all Hilo attractions! Private and very serene. Great natural light and a gorgeous screened porch for comfortable relaxation. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home with a fantastic view of Hilo bay. Property was close to all of things we wanted to do. This home will be on our list to stay again when we come back

We enjoyed our stay and had an excellent time. Definitely will stay again if coming back to Hilo.
This house worked perfectly for our extended family vacation. The huge kitchen was great for many cooks working together and the grill and outdoor seating area was a valuable addition which we enjoyed immensely. We would stay here again. Sunrise and coffee on the lanai was a special quiet time for my husband and me before the rest of the crew got up. We loved this spot.
Great property with lots of space. The screened porch was the most used space. Lots of fruit trees on the property. Only a short distance to downtown with lots of shops and restaurant options.
We loved staying at this lovely vacation home. It was clean, comfortable and cozy! So much Hilo charm. Huge space, especially loved the wrap around screened-in porch. We hope to return in the future.
Overall we were pretty happy with the property. Check in was smooth. The layout of the bedrooms is a little weird. The bedroom with the two twin beds requires you to have to walk through another bedroom to get to the bathroom. Nothing we couldn't get over. The kitchen sick had a leak coming from the inside the cabinet, but they got someone out pretty quick to take a look at it. The house is old and has a lot of charm. We loved the screened in porch. It was a great way to start the day. Would definitely stay here again.
It was a lovely house to spend nearly 2 weeks in. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We picked lots of fruit from the property, lounged on the lanai, and had fun watching the planes and geckos eating insects. The large yard was very nice to have young children use up some energy.
The proximity to the downtown and beaches, while still being 'out of town,' was excellent.

My Hilo Home is a plantation house in good condition, in a private quiet area yet just a 1/2 mile or so across the river from downtown Hilo. We enjoyed the yard, the porch, the views over the bay, and having a full kitchen.
Very relaxing! Close to town. But feels like your living the Hawaiian life in the country! Loved pickings and enjoying fresh fruit. House was clean. love loved the architecture of the authentic Hawaiian home! Some updates needed in master bath and kitchen. But overall we really enjoyed our stay! Thanks
My Hilo Home was everything and more than we expected. It truly was our home away from home.Minutes from downtown Hilo but seemed miles away -peaceful,quiet and the grounds are lovely. We picked oranges and passionfruit from the yard.Fabulous place!

Reviewer Comments:
The house was charming place to stay with lots of space, beautiful deck with views and a birdwatcher's delight. It was out of the way, but close to town and right up the road were waterfalls. Very peaceful and clean.
We just wrapped up our wedding and wanted a few quiet days with family to unwind from all the festivities. This house was unique, large enough for our family of 5 adults & 2 kids, great views and a bit quirky/historical in All the best ways.
My only critique is that while there are lots of eating tables in different areas, there isn’t one big enough for everyone to sit at if you have a group bigger than 4.

Cute older home overlooking Hilo Bay. The house was a little stuffy when we first arrived, but we opened all the windows and never had to think about it again. The yard was great for the kids to run around, and the large kitchen was perfect for cooking some meals at the house. The pots and pans could use a refresh though. Overall, it was a great place to stay on the calmer side of the island.

We loved staying here. It is large and full of character. We picked oranges and papayas but there is also other fruit. Walk into town! Herby the cat was very friendly.
A very spacious plantation house with character and charm. Well-equipped kitchen with lots of prep space. Little bit of noise from traffic on the road, but otherwise lovely and quiet. Pleasant outdoor lanai to enjoy the lush gardens.
Minor suggestions: the grill could use a clean and some paintwork needs to be done in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Overall, a great place to stay on the outskirts of Hilo with a view of the harbor.
I can’t say enough about the amazing plantation house! Our daughter and her family joined us for part of our stay. We spent evenings in the large screened in porch, enjoying the skies and all the fun night sounds. Even the frogs😉 loved the little black and white cat that visited us daily! The location was ideal for us as well. Able to drive to the volcano park easily. And along to coast to Waimea
We would definitely recommend My Hilo House!

the house was perfect for our ohana. we loved playing frisbee in the yard & being able to walk in to town. the only challenge was having to access the main bathroom thru either bedroom.
