Awesome place to stay!

The house is beautiful. Plenty of everthing you need..from cookware to blankets and towles. Its one of the few places i have stayed that I can say was better in reality then the pictures

Hillsville farmhouse

Wonderful charming home

Firstly the house is so much larger on the inside than it appears. An historic charming house. Very clean, perfect for my family. And the beautiful horses were such a treat for my daughter and wife. Such a bucolic setting. We will be back.

We saw horses

This was such a great place for our family. We could look out the window and see horses. We loved it. It was just after Christmas and we were visiting my sister and her family so we wanted a place where we could all sit down and have a meal. And this place is perfect and so lovely. Just as described, clean, easy to access and the host was amazing, even checked in with us after we arrived to ask if there was anything else we needed. We have family in this area, we will stay here again!

Relaxy

We very much enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, peaceful and enjoyable. The house is as pictured. Enjoyed watching the horses, deer, turkeys and other wildlife.

Family weekend

Lisa was a wonderful hostess and we really enjoyed her beautiful farmhouse. Plenty of room for our family of 5 to enjoy our weekend. The property was close to town but a taste of country with horses welcoming us in and out of the property. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for hosting a large family breakfast. We will definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and Convenient

Lots of room. And lots of rooms! Essentially there are two dining rooms and two living rooms. Super location feels out in the country but is very close to town. House is 100 years old so the floor isn't perfectly flat and the upstairs doesn't have high ceilings, but it is comfortable! Lots of space for games and two TV's should keep everyone entertained.

Extended Family of 5 for Hokie Graduation

Originally we were going to have my wife and I plus our three teenaged kids and my parents stay while we celebrated a son’s graduation from Virginia Tech, but ended up with only one teen kid coming. Space and amenities were fantastic for our extended family and we enjoyed the grounds with the horses as well. Since our trip was focused around Blacksburg, an hour drive away, we didn’t spend a lot of time in Hillsville. The Farmhouse is a perfect place to stay and explore the local area as well. Communication with the Host was smooth and she made sure we had everything we needed, responding to our request to add one night very quickly.

Family Christmas Meet Up

We had a great time meeting up with family in a somewhat centralized location. Made it much easier than making the big trip to either home location. We are fans of the Andy Griffith show so this was a cool location with its proximity to Mt Airy, NC. If your looking for a farm house type stay This could be it. Here’s what we really liked: multiple locations to sit, relax, work a puzzle, read, watch tv, etc. unique qualities like 100 year old uneven floors, shiplap upstairs, good size rooms, nice kitchen for our needs, good WiFi, good heating, quiet country setting with A view of horses out the window. Cons- beds upstairs are more suited to kids. The one in the yellow room wasn’t super comfy and my wife and I didn’t get the best sleep. All in all a great stay and Lisa was very quick to respond to us. It was cool seeing her multiple trophies for her championship horse.

Wonderful home and wonderful experience!

My family and I just spent a wonderful weekend at the farm house. The pictures do not do the house justice. It is much larger than it appears in the photographs. There Are three bedrooms upstairs with a full bath and a master bedroom downstairs with a full bath. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The stables are next door and the paddocks back up to the house. It is so wonderful to wake up to horses basically in your back yard! They are so friendly and soothing to be around. We were not expecting the experience we had at the farm. We spent time with Lisa at the barn and a lot of time petting,feeding, and just watching the horses. It was a great experience. We hope to return soon.

Peaceful

This farmhouse was a great place for our family to stay and relax while visiting other local family over the holidays. We had a party of 6 and there was plenty of space to both do things together, and have our own space at times. Feeding the horses was a highlight!

Great stay!

Wonderful country property. Tons of seating room, games, owner is an absolute sweetheart. Bring your own pillows if you are pillow-picky. Well stocked kitchen and house has so much history and such a wonderful groove/feel.

Lovely farmhouse for our family gathering

The home was just the perfect place for spending time with our daughter and granddaughter, as well as meeting up with family that live in the area. The bedrooms were comfortable and there is more than enough room to just sit and relax. The views from every window are beautiful and the horses were a huge hit with our granddaughter. The location is close to the grocery store and downtown yet you feel like you’re in the quiet countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to relax or to gather with family and friends. We look forward to visiting again.

Clean farmhouse in quiet area

We really enjoyed our stay at your farmhouse. Quiet beautiful area on a horse farm. The banana bread you left for us was delicious! We visited Andy Griffith’s hometown at Mt. Airy which was about 30 miles away as well as driving around surrounding areas to see beautiful mountain scenery. If we come back to this area we will definitely plan to stay at your farmhouse!

Historic Farmhouse - Beautiful Setting

Charming, historic and quirky farmhouse. Every room tells a story and hosts stunning views of rural Virginia countryside, rolling pastures, and grazing horses. Location is very close to grocery stores, drug store, and restaurants, yet it feels secluded and peaceful- complete with stars at night. It was an ideal place to gather family away from the tension of professional timetables and demands.

Absolutely Wonderful

This property is exactly as described! Breathtaking views of beautiful horses all day! The property was beautiful, home was perfect for our group of 8. We enjoyed watching the horses frolic through the property throughout the day and the changing of the leaves was beautiful as well. The history in the home was interesting to read and the owner was very friendly and inviting. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation.
