The Studio at the Inn at High Falls

  • Simply elegant studio located at the Inn at High Falls, lovely restored perfect for a single traveler or couple! The studio is located on a ground floor of the barn which is perfect for people who cannot handle stairs very well. It is one of three self contained units on the property. There is a main house and carriage house. The carriage house contains the studio on the first floor and loft on the upper floor. The cozy space has a mini frig, microwave, and coffee maker. Also, the studio comes with access to the shared back yard.

    Our home is served by a private artisan well drilled into the local bedrock. This area naturally contains sulfur in the rock, which means our water has a mild sulfur smell and taste. After periods of heavy rain, the water can temporarily pick up a bit more sulfur as it filters through the ground - this is completely normal for wells in this region.
    The water is safe and is fine for showering. It is also safe for cooking and drinking but bottled spring water dispensers are provided in each unit. Most guests tell us they stop noticing it after the first day or two. And we have an extensive water system to treat water specifically that contain sulfur to minimize the effect.

It is a very quiet area. Host forgot to give me the passkey for the place so we were waiting a good 20 mins to get in but when we called him a second time he was extremely apologetic. Water smelled like rotten eggs so we weren’t able to shower and the toilet flush was very slow and needed a couple flushes after waiting a few mins in between. Place could’ve been a bit cleaner but overall, the place was cozy, quiet, and has a super cute set up. Not to mention great hiking/walking trails in the area.

Place is exactly how it looks! Great location between New Paltz, Kingston, Woodstock. We unfortunately had inconsiderate neighbors that forced us leave early, but Frank was incredibly gracious and made it up to us. Would stay again.

A nice cosy abode, friendly and well situated. Two pointers - in a lyme abundant area, cutting the grass short to keep ticks at bay is important. Well water had sulfur smell, which took a while to get used to.

Great get away. When we couldn't secure an Uber to get to a restaurant Rich offered a ride. It's so nice there's still good people out there. Love this place we will be back!

Perfect for a stay in the beautiful Catskills!

We stayed over the Christmas holiday and the rental was perfect for us: cozy, warm and comfortable, in a lovely setting. It's in a great location, too -- it's easy to enjoy New Paltz, High Falls, Accord and other nearby locations and all the shops, restaurants and nature trails around the area. In addition, the owner and the property manager were responsive and kind when we had questions and needed additional help during our stay. We look forward to booking this studio again in the future, thank you!

It wasnt exactly what I expected, looked better in the pictures.There was an awful rotten egg smell coming from the bathroom, I think it was the water or something else. The bed also was very noisy, just getting in and out of the bed or switcing positions.

Weekend getaway

Cute little studio with good restaurants and hiking trails nearby. Pictures accurately represent. Only complaint was that the thermostat didn’t seem to actually be connected to the heating in the room so we weren’t able to lower the temp.

A Couple of Small Things

First I want to say the owner was very accommodating. We had to change our dates twice due to bad travel weather, namely snow storms. The bed was very comfortable. The two small things I want to mention are that the towels in the bathroom really need an upgrade, and if you have sensitive hearing the vent system blower might call for ear plugs.

Weekend stay

We stayed at this house for a weekend to attend the annual Ukrainian festival which was only 10 miles down the road. We were gone most of the day , but the house and location was just perfect for our needs. It had a fridge, coffee pot, microwave and water cooler with fresh, clean and cold water. The studio was very spacious for two people. The only suggestion I have is to bring your own bath towels even though they were provided. Finally, the barn is adorable. Thank you, Frank
