"The room was fine. normal. But the pool and hot tub and related atmosphere are unique in Portland, and in general. There used to be more such cool places, but corporate homogenization has brought down the standard all around the country. Most places, like Hilton or Hampton or even Holiday inns have little claustrophobic pools, with no hot tub, that aren't good for swimming or much of anything but small children. rare are places with nice hot tubs. and much rarer is what they have here at Merry Manor. You can get in the pool inside and go outside in the winter, after warming up in a big hot tub with room for 8, and a waterfall. Accountants would rip that stuff out. Screw the accountants. we don't want no stupid bean counters.. Give us back our lives and our freedom. So there you have it. Many if not most of the people I met there already knew about the pool / hot tub and came for it. There use to be one at the Best Western in Caribou Maine, and the idiots who owned it, took it out. Their loss. They've lost thousands of dollars thinking they saved. - But although Merry Manor is awesome... you can find the same kind of thing but better in Iceland. Or you can do like me and go to South America. Overall Portland Maine is worth a visit for a few days, and if you stay there and like spa amenities, Merry Manor is your only choice. I would be surprised if you could find a super premium hotel with better stuff. You might have to rent a private mansion for 10K a day"
Coastal Retreat - Sauna, Hot Tub & Swim Spa - Near Beaches and Downtown Portland
10/10 Excellent
"This house was absolutely amazing! I booked a last minute weekend getaway and was pleasantly surprised by my stay. Everything we needed was already at the house. There were board games and even bikes in the garage! Lots of extra blankets and towels. The shower already had shampoo and conditioner as well. We didn't get a chance to use the sauna but the hot tub and fitness pool were so relaxing! I've been to a lot of houses where the hot tub is usually outside but this hot tub/fitness pool combo was enclosed in an all window porch. At night, there are lights you can turn on in the hot tub which added a nice ambiance. The porch itself also had string lights which was a really nice touch. It was a truly relaxing experience :) On another note, Portland was only a 10-15 mins drive and we had a blast exploring the nightlife! "
Ultimate Pine Point Beach Family Compound-4 Units, 8 Bedrooms, Yard
10/10 Excellent
"The family compound was an absolute dream and a perfect location for our reunion. The location couldn’t be better and the golden hour light on the marsh was so special. The first night was rainy and the main house was plenty of space for us to spend time together as a large group and the rest of the weekend we were spread out between the beach across the street and the generous outdoor area. I would absolutely book again. "
