Mom & Dad's 50th Anniversary

Although a short stay, we absolutely loved this property!! The house was beautiful and the property was amazing! We rented the pontoon boat as well and had a wonderful time! It was especially nice sitting out by the water with the firepit at night! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Better than we expected

A lake vacation is new to our family. It’s typically the ocean, however, we have been forever won over by Lake Gaston! We all prefer the quiet serenity of the lake versus pounding waves….. “ no salt, no sharks, no worries”…. We have already rebooked this home for next year. There were 13 of us and the house was more than accommodating and beautiful! We were all together when we wanted to be , but also found personal space if needed. We loved Carried Away and would highly recommend it!!!

Fabulous!!!!

This property was everything i thought it would be, everything was perfect and so organized, i didn’t have to contact the owner not once!!! Everything was labeled in the kitchen we didn’t have to look for anything there was a guide book that gave us information on what stores were near and what activities we could do!! I definitely would recommend this property to my friends and family.

Great House

House is set on a beautiful setting right next to the lake. House accommodated the entire family and we never felt crammed in. Having double appliances throughout the house was also great. 2 refrigerators, dishwashers, cloths washers, and dryers made our stay that much easier. Space in the basement was great for the kids to have some of their own space for games and pool. Hot tub was a nice bonus on the cool nights in February. I would highly recommend this place for a large gathering of family or friends to enjoy each others time and company.

Trip to henrico

This property was really nice, only things I can complain about what the water pressure is pretty bad, we had 20 people in the house and only one person could shower at a time, my 2 yr old got althetes foot for being barefoot (inside), they say u can use the grill but u have to fill the propane tank yourself, they have a fire pit outside but u have to get ur own fire wood, ($75 for them to bring it) for the price to stay there you would imagine these things would be included. We had the hot tub company come out in the middle of our stay to drain and clean the hot tub, which should be something done before we come or after guests leave. These are our complaints as a group, the house was clean and pretty spacious, was a nice week away with family.

Great vacation time with entire family

Wonderful house on Lake Gaston. Great for adults and kids. This was our 2nd year at Carried Away, we will be returning next year. Game room was very good. Spacious house. Lake deck has upper and lower level and was a great place to congregate and spend the day.

Perfect lake getaway

We really enjoyed our time at Carried Away Lake House. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of gathering spaces, the kitchen was very well stocked, the furniture was very nice and everything was clean. We had 15 adults, 1child and an infant and this place worked out great for us. Lake Gaston is a beautiful lake. We rented the pontoon boat and it was a great way to explore the lake or just anchor in a cove for swimming. We also spent a lot of time on the dock bar, it was a great place to relax. One luxury was the ice machine. It was wonderful to always have ice for the coolers. I would have to say it was our best family vacation yet. Also, the people who take care of the house are wonderful, Kacie was very kind and helpful. Thanks for great vacation!

Stunning!

Wow - where to start . . . this property has everything you could ask for. We enjoyed every moment from our initial reservation inquiry to checking out on our last day. The property is impeccably clean from top to bottom - probably the cleanest property we have ever stayed at and we have traveled quite a bit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return next year!

Absolutely amazing!

From the moment we stepped in - the house was perfect! It was very clean and had all the items you would need in your home away from home. Kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were very comfortable and the bedding was so soft and perfect! Plenty of towels. We enjoyed the pool table, foosball table, and video games. Utilized all the outdoor toys too (kayak - paddle boards). We absolutely loved it and will recommend to everyone!

Level of thought and detail was amazing

We had a family weekend of 20 and everyone was comfortable and never felt crowded. I have never seen a more organized house. The house has so much to offer all ages. It was the perfect house for our 88 year old mother. The game room was a hit with the kids and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We had great weather for the paddle boards and kayaks. The entire property has so much seating outside and inside. The views from the house are incredible. It is rare to see a lot this flat with a great yard at Lake Gaston. Making the reservation and checkin was a breeze. The house was super clean and the furnishing were fresh and of quality (especially the kitchen) The house information was so clearly displayed and supplied, we never had to ask the host any questions. We plan to return again next year.

Everything we hoped for and more

Best family Christmas vacation ever!!

This house truly had it all. We had the ability to have 15 adults and three small children fit more than comfortably in this house. There was enough room where everyone felt as if they had space when they need it, but the layout also provided great spaces to get everyone together in one area!! we loved all being able to sit at one dining room table for meals. Being able to cook and see the kids in the living room was amazing. Waking up every morning to a lake view was a dream!! There was truly something for every member of the family at this house. Highly recommend! Kudos to the owner for all the work they’ve put in to this house!!

Wonderful stay for a large group!

This was our second family vacation at Carried Away and it is everything we could need! We had 20+ people and had plenty of room with the 10 bedrooms, large dining table, double dishwashers and 3 refrigerators. Being lakefront was perfect for fishing and enjoying the provided paddle boards and kayaks. The game room was a huge hit with all ages, and the hot tub was a nice touch as well. All our communications were professional, and they were quick to respond. I can highly recommend this place for your large group!

Party House!

Build in some time for check out cleaning - especially if you have the whole place occupied. Suffice to say there was lots of booze drunk, full trash in the many bathrooms and a kitchen full of food after our four days of a party of 22!! We had a blast and the vibe and river were perfect. We swam, kayaked, hot tubbed and hung out in the many lounge spaces. The house is well set up and maintained!!

Absolutely perfect lake house

This was our second stay at Carried Away. The house is spacious, very clean, and beautifully furnished. The yard is great for throwing football and family games. The dock at the lake is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We loved the rented pontoon and spent very enjoyable time on the lake. Communication with the management is very easy and they are quick to respond to questions. If you are looking for a beautiful spot on the lake with amazing sunsets in a spacious home this is it!

Great property, even better than the pictures!

Great Summer Vacation

My parents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and my brothers and I looked for almost a year to find a house that could handle 3 generations. This was the prefect house! The big dinning room table gave us a great space to eat dinner together and play games when we were done. The pool table, ping pong table and arcade games gave the kids plenty to do when we were not in the lake. The hot tube was enjoyed by all. It was super easy to get to. Food Lion was close enough that when we had to run to the store it didn’t feel like a half of day trip. We enjoyed a movie in Roanoke Rapids.

Exceeded all expectations!!

We had a fantastic time at Carried Away on Lake Gaston. We had 20 people over the course of the week traveling in from a variety of locations, and Carried Away accommodated us all perfectly! We spent a ton of time on the lake skiing, tubing, fishing and traveling by boat to several of the lakefront restaurants, all within an easy boat ride. Renting the pontoon boat is an absolute must! The boat house was a favorite hangout as was the downstairs game room and bar where we spent time shooting pool and mixing our favorite drinks at night, watching old movies and playing video games. Views were spectacular, and the kitchen with two refrigerators, two dishwashers and ovens, along with the outdoor grill, was more than enough to prepare a few large scale meals for the group! The property is well maintained, clean and the property owners were a pleasure to deal with. We are grateful to have found this place, and recommend it highly!
