Lake-view Dome featuring a swinging-seat, movie projector and super comfy circular bed all looking out over dreamy scenery of the stunning South Downs on the edge of a beautifully lit lake with private viewing platform.
Complete with mood lighting, projector, music speaker and tea & coffee facilities.
A private bathroom next door provides a hot shower, sink and WC.
The Dome is nestled on the side of a festoon-lit lake with a private decking area and pontoon to use, with stylish seating to enjoy the prime views out across the Downs.
The Hot Tub is next door to the Dome and is yours to use privately for the duration of your stay for 75 (mention when you book and we can add it).
Inside, it stays cosy in winter with a wood burner, and atmospheric lighting which can be programmed using a remote control with a waterproof music speaker to use inside or outside to pair with your bluetooth music.
Stylish seating includes a macrame swing-seat which provides panoramic views out of a clear window looking out over the lake with curtains that can be pulled for privacy.
There is a large round bed for sleeping, a compact dining table and chairs for eating at as well as crockery, cutlery and glassware for all your needs.
There are no cooking facilities in the Dome (no cooking is permitted inside), however, a Dome visit is a great chance to enjoy local restaurants (the walk into Henfield is 20 minutes) to the 2 gastro-pubs available in the village. And we can arrange to put a BBQ that can be used outside the Dome for 20 if you would like to use it.
A short walk away also is a new 'field cafe' at Berretts Farm - a chicken and emu farm open 9am to 4pm that serves the best coffee and cake around as well as a gin and tonic come sun-downer time. And a 20 minute walk away in Henfield there are several good pubs and cafes to enjoy too.
Rye Island is like having your own private wildlife park to enjoy for your stay and there are wandering peacocks, chickens, ducks, geese, the occasional swan, pheasant and resident kingfisher.
Nature is all around you - there are no human sounds – only birds and animals.
Occassionally at the weekends there may be noise from local events happening close by that may be audible from the Dome, which we may not always be aware of to be able to warn you about and are not within our control.
There is so much relaxed enjoyment - the lake has steps leading down into it from the pontoon by the Dome where you are welcome to swim from. You’re also welcome to fish on the lake if you have your own rod.
Also walking some of the glorious and numerous footpath walks around the area.
The village of Henfield is a 10 minute walk which has all the amenities you could need (note the main store closes at 9pm though!) and there are plenty of pubs within walking distance.
Surrounding the property is uninterrupted farmland, which turns into wetlands during the winter.
This results in incredible amounts of birdlife including different types of geese, ducks, swan, moor-hens and even kingfishers.
The sound during this time can be like 'out of Africa' and is a paradise of wild-life.
Late check outs and early check ins (when possible) are 15 per hour.
Guest access
The Dome is on its own platform with steps leading to a viewing area by the lake.
Please keep to the Dome, decking area around it and the pontoon by the lake as there may be other guests staying in other areas.
Other things to note
The Dome is to the left of the lake on a platform looking South at the view.
It is accessed via a firstly gravel and then grass path to the left of the Dome parking area.
The Dome is open for you to walk into, with a key so you can lock it for security.
