"The room was in poor condition - the light was flickering, the showerhead was dripping, and there was a noticeable mold smell. The balcony was also missing a chair.
Room service was supposed to be every other day, but it was still missed.
Service overall was very poor. There are only two pools, neither temperature controlled, so the water is cold. There is very little to do at the resort.
Overall, the property appears to be struggling."
"Beach view that was awesome. The rooms were older but clean. Towels were in need of replacing. Checking out one front desk person was rude. Everyone else was friendly and nice. "
"Ocean view was amazing, amenities with beach access and breakfast at the swan court was delicious. The hotel is not disabilities friendly….my mom had a hard time getting around and if she wanted to go to the pool would have to walk all the way around to get to the lower levels. Overall would stay again. Beautiful hotel."
"We really enjoy the location, the relaxed atmosphere and the close proximity to Kaanapali Beach and its beachwalk. We stayed in a Studio in the Dolphin building on the ground level. The condo was nicely furnished with an Aloha touch, kitchen was well equipped, the beds were very comfy and we did not hear any noise from the neighboring rooms.
Within a few steps we'd be at the pool or on the beach. We very much appreciated that there wasn't any loud music at the pool.
We've been at the AMKV a few times and while we also have stayed in a hotel room we prefer staying in a condo in the Dolphin building. To us it feels more relaxed.
They provide a water dispenser next to the hotel reception which we liked a lot as well as fresh coffee in the morning. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating, particularly Vernalyn and Joe. "
