About this property
Cozy home w/fenced in yard-Dog Friendly with Pet fee. 2 block walk to downtown!
My husband and I stumbled upon this cozy home at the mouth of the Susquehanna River and the top of the Chesapeake Bay in historic Havre de Grace. Only a few miles to I-95 for easy access to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. or New York City. The Great Wolfs Lodge and Perryville Hollywood Casino are 10 minutes away. This is a small single family two- story home built in 1880. A dog door opening leads to a fenced in back yard. (There is a non- refundable $200 Pet fee). The large porch is one step into the home. A combo lock box is between the storm door for easy entrance. Code will be supplied a few days before stay. Parking is free, but parking can sometimes be difficult, as there are so many visitors to the town. Handicapped parking is available across the street. The Queen size bedroom and dressing room are on the second floor. The home was built in 1880 so these stairs are narrow. As you walk in the front door, a small couch/bed to the right side has a window air conditioner. The main room has a baby grand piano which you are welcome to play. We have internet and wifi with a TV and an electric fireplace for chilly nights . The dining area and kitchen have microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher. There is a door leading to the large fenced in back yard with a large pet door. We welcome pets, there is a $200 Non- refundable pet fee( with references). Yes, the cats and dogs in the photos are real to let you know if you have allergies, this is not the place for you. Our pets are with us at our other home. The bath area is a newer shower with seat and a washing machine is available for use. Clothes can be air dried either on the line outside or the drying rack upstairs. There is a cot available for one extra guest. The upstairs bedroom has a window AC unit and a Queen size mattress. The closet and all dressers, nightstand drawers available to the guests in both bedrooms. Coffee, linens, towels, etc are supplied. Every weekend there seems to be a music, art or cultural festival. I have another home and are not able to take advantage of all the great events and happenings. Walk to restaurants, theater, the Opera House, Library, Post Office, Museums and the beautiful water. Go sailing, Kayaking, Paint, Hike the Lafayette Trail or enjoy Bombay's treats. Hollywood Casino and The Great Wolf Lodge is only a few miles away. Please note that the police department is only 1 1/2 blocks away and there are 5 fire departments in this town. Great for safety concerns, but sometimes the sirens will go off. Also the train to DC runs right thru Havre die Grace. You will hear its whistle and horn. I try to accommodate everyone but this home is not suitable for more than 3 people with one car. Please let me know if you have any special requests and I will do my best. Suzanne

Suzanne was wonderful!!The house was just what I was looking for. Love the neighborhood and the ability to walk downtown and check out the shops. Looking forward to staying again next year!
Host was excellent making sure we had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay. The home was very cozy and comfortable like being in your own home. We will definitely be returning!
Quaint, picturesque cottage reminiscent of small Gingerbread Houses on Martha’s Vineyard. Great access to town!! Cozy and comfortable, loved the porch and small fenced in yard! :)

Homey stay
Suzanne's place was very comfortable and she supplied everything you'd need. It was fun cooking in her kitchen and I was also able to work remotely as well.
Suzanne’s home was very cozy and the location was perfect. It was quiet, but walking distance from everything we needed. The kitchen was well-stocked and everything felt very homey. Suzanne was very sweet and communicative, checking in with us to make sure we were enjoying our trip. She was also very flexible with check-in and check-out, which was much appreciated! We would stay again.
Visiting for a workshop. The accommodations were very nice. Our host made every effort to make sure we had what we needed, even welcoming us with a box of wine in the fridge.
The house is just a few minutes walk from shops and restaurants but still on a quiet street. We were able to park right in front of the house.
Suzanne is a wonderful host and very accommodating.
Her home is within easy walking distance of coffee shops and dog friendly restaurants. Exactly what my wife, I and two Australian Shepherds needed.
Thanks Suzanne for making us feel so welcomed.
This home was so cozy and comfortable I immediately felt at home. The host was attentive and very responsive!
I have never been sad when I checked out of a bnb heading home. I felt that way today!
I love this little town and this cozy little home
Cute small home in the heart of Havre De Grace! The temps dropped; lots of snow fell; creating a winter wonderland. Host was attentive, kind and took immediate care of all unforeseen winter challenges. Home well-stocked with items to make stay both comfortable and welcoming.
The house was very clean ! It was a little small but I think it was all the furniture ! Very comfortable King size bed ! This house is perfect if your traveling with your doggies Chico loved the yard !
not too big, not too small. not to nice, not not nice. "Just right". Suzanne was a gracious host. very flexible about arrival and departure times. Havre de Grace a nice relaxing community. great place to unwind
This cozy home was perfect for me and my dog for an extended stay! We loved walking in HdG every day and went on several hikes throughout the area. The kitchen was well-appointed and I found everything I needed and then some! Suzanne left a bottle of wine for me, and she was responsive and made herself available for any issues/questions. I loved my time here and look forward to visiting again. Thank you for sharing your home with me!
Traveling with my dogs for an event in the nearby area. The fenced yard was great and very enjoyed. The home is quaint, clean & comfortable. Suzanne has information nicely organized & was easy to communicate with. The location is close to a lot of great restaurants & things to see. Thank you for a pleasant trip experience. Wish I'd had piano lessons to be able to play the beautiful grand piano.
Home is well-loved and clean. Kitchen is updated with dishwasher, refrigerator, and gas stove. Microwave is available in armoire. Bathroom has washing machine, walk-in shower, great lighting, and comfy towels.Stairway is typical of an older home with slender passage, however sturdy and secure with metal railings.Stayed in the summer, so A/C window units were a welcomed relief. Back yard/porch was serene and quiet.Street parking was easy to find. I thought the Amtrak train would have bothered me at night, but I never heard it in the evening.Suzanne was more than hospitable! She was the perfect mix of attentive and available while still letting us have a quiet, secluded vacation. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and has a fantastic resource binder full of ideas and brochures. We said multiple times during our stay that we want to come back next year. We've loved it!
Porch is filled with cobwebs. Steps inside need a lot of improvement. Inside was very clean, if dated. However I was pleased with the updated shower, refrigerator, kitchen. No tv made the down time lonely. Netflix did not work, nor did dvd player. For me I needed a much more closer bathroom on the second floor. Getting up 3 times a night to use bathroom & navigating those poorly constructed stairs was scary. I did not want to stay in the single bed right by front door. SUZANNE was very accommodating personally, as far as consoling me when I couldnt get the Master Key to work, and then on top of that I lost the hidden key. Just wasnt my day. One other thing, again not her problem, the outdoor dogs living next store were frequently barking. One was very aggressive and scared me back inside the house. I guess that's the neighbors' fault, but it affected my stay. It was a bit further walking to the river area. Coffee was great, milk was provided, sweetner, cups, microwave. Clean inside. Very cozy older house. I now know to ask more questions, but I would recommend this vrbo as long as the next renters asked a but more questions than I did. The next renters may not have the same concerns.
as Milk, ciffee, needed to
We had a great weekend-long stay at Suzanne’s place while in town visiting family. The house is cozy and comfortable and the location is fantastic for exploring the historic Havre de Grace waterfront. The backyard is large and well-kept, perfect for our dogs to run around in or bask in the sun. Suzanne is a friendly, attentive host and all instructions were very clear. Would love to stay here again when in town!
