"Very relaxing place. The finishes were somewhat dated, but that added to the overall charm of the cottage. The separate single unit was very popular with the kids, and the lake view makes you want to stay forever! It was a short walk to the dock for a quick swim, and we enjoyed the activity center just up the road where you can kayak, hike, and zip line. "

"Nice little cottage surrounded by forest but minutes from downtown Amal. A few extra steps to book, but nothing difficult. Modern interior, fully stocked kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and coffeemaker, king size bed, strong AC in the main room, nice hot shower. Bring your own linens and towels, they are not provided. Indoor bathroom has a camp toilet, easy enough to figure out. FYI, parking is about 80 feet from the cottage, no driveway or sidewalk. "Das Haus liegt in völlig ruhiger Lage, die nächsten Nachbarn waren mehrere Hundert Meter weit weg. Wer Kontakt möchte, kann ihn suchen, wer ihn nicht möchte, wird alleine gelassen. Der See ist einige Minuten zu Fuß vom Haus entfernt, erlaubt die gleiche Privatsphäre und ist wunderbar zum schwimmen und rudern geeignet."

"Nice location in great nature. A beautiful Lake and beautiful mountains. The holiday home is well equipped to swedish standards. Tolle Lage, tolle Natur, toller See, schöne Berge. Ferienhaus ist in schwedischem standard würde ich sagen."

"The staff was not present for check in and we had to wait a long time. Despite great weather the staff did not open the pool. Broken shower door and broken furniture at breakfast. Staff refused to put out more breakfast despite many guests arriving 15 min before breakfast closed, so we did not get proper breakfast or even coffee. This place needs to rethink. "

"The facilities were good, clean and the staff was always very helpful. The only concern was on our first night stay when the fire alarm went off at 10:30pm and there was no one there to direct the guests on what to do or where to go. After half an hour someone finally came and turned the alarm off. There was no response from the fire department!"

"These are nice little cottages with some beautiful scenery. You check in at the hotel/restaurant, then drive up the hill to the cottages. They are nicely equipped with a kitchenette, so you can have a nice meal overlooking the lake. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful."

"Amal is a good location for exploring the lakes. There a couple of ok places to eat out, but not as many as I'd have liked. Definitely a base rather than a location. Hotel is in an older building and decorated sympathetically. Our room had plenty of space, but no tea or coffee making facilities."
