We love this hotel and the history attached to it. We stayed when there was a murder mystery event happening. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the actors and participants dressed up! The receptionist was not warm or helpful in her greeting and the room was cold until the heating came on in the evening. However we will return for the history and convenience of position and for our nostalgia attached to the hotel.

We stayed for one night and were looked after beautifully throughout by the staff. Our room was comfortable and extremely clean, and the hotel looks very lovely- it’s a really nice atmosphere. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room, with a glass ceiling. Everything was perfectly cooked and fresh, and the whole experience was great. We would 100% stay again.

The room was immaculate and the staff very attentive. The breakfast was amazing, with so much choice, and the bar was a lovely, relaxing area with very helpful bar staff. Our afternoon tea for two was delicious and very refined. We also loved the Agatha Christie connection to the hotel and it was lovely to see other guests dressed up in Agatha Christie era outfits. The things that were a slight negative were the lift, which was incredibly slow and there was a lack of plug sockets in the room..... and I'd forgotten to pack the multi plug extension I usually take! But all in all, we absolutely loved our stay.

The Old Swan is a beautiful old world hotel from the bygone days when they knew how to do it. Staff were well presented and helpful. The bar extremely comfortable. The room clean and warm. It's close to the centre of Harrogate, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, though the food in the hotel is excellent. Plenty of parking. It's always an enjoyable stay, which is why I return again and again.
