Het hotel is prima. Schone kamers en vriendelijk personeel. Alleen de locatie is midden in het oude gedeelte van Hanoi. Op de kruising twee panden verder is het elke avond feest!

Good spot in the Old Town

Busy location but minimal noise disturbance at night - at least from the street...air con unit was very noisy and had limited effectiveness. Room comfortable for the most part - one narrow window with views of a all and rooftops mainly. Extremely helpful staff on reception - especially Johnny + Rick. Good breakfast and excellent restaurant staff.

Hotel is nicely located in the heart of Old Quarters; nightlife spots are all a stone’s throw away. We booked a Sapa tour through the hotel which was a fantastic experience. The logistics and transport for the tour were all taken care of properly. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Pleasant hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi

The Essence d'Orient is a pleasant hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Staff are warm and friendly. It's not too pricey despite the good location, but there are lots of little cozy touches -- welcome drinks and fruit, tastefully styled room, and even a laptop in the room to borrow. I only stayed for one night during a business trip, but the hotel upgraded me to a room with a better city view. Very pleasant hotel with some character!

Second stay at Essence. Still great location and service but price is getting a bit uncompetitive with similar hotels.

The hotel is conveniently located in close proximity to bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. The staffs at the hotel were super friendly and helpful. During our stay, the hotel had a spa promotion of buy one get one free spa from 1 ~ 4 PM, and we booked the romance package. It was a great deal and the spa staff demonstrated great skills. Highly recommend it! All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Essence Hotel.

Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage mitten im Geschehen des Old Quarters von Hanoi. Trotzdem ist das Zimmer ruhig und der Trubel der Großstadt bleibt draussen. Sehr angenehm war, dass unser Zimmer - wir hatten eine Executive Suite - in 2 Zimmer (Wohnbereich/Schlafbereich) aufgeteilt war mit getrennten Klimaanlagen. Dadurch konnten wir die Klimaanlage im Schlafbereich über Nacht abschalten und es wurde trotzdem nicht zu heiß im Zimmer. Auch das Frühstück ist hervorragend.

Amazing hotel

Great hotel and brilliant staff they couldn’t do enough for us. The room was spotless massive comfy bed pillows etc. we had everything we needed. It’s bang in the centre of the old part of Hanoi next to beer corner. Even though we were in the centre the hotel wasn’t noisy at all. We lived out stay and will definitely be back. This is the fourth hotel we have stayed in around this area and definitely the beat

Best location and modern rooms

This hotel is in the heart of the old quarter right by beer corner (however, we couldn't hear any noise from our rooms). The hotel has just been refurbished and you can really tell. We've stayed in another 2 hotels in the old quarter and even though they were also great, they did feel a little out dated (especially the bathrooms). Essence however was brand new and roomsa a generous size. The best thing though is location as we were able to come back throughout the day for naps and drop off shopping without much detour.

Beautiful hotel

We LOVED it here. Exceeded our expectations. Lovely friendly staff, great location, clean and tidy rooms, modern, comfy bed, delicious breakfast...cannot fault it! Definitely recommend.

Great hotel in old quarter

Staff is super helpful to seemingly do whatever you wanted - change out mattress pads, book trips, lend laptops, hold luggage when away etc. Loved the location in the old quarter but be prepared that the streets are very busy and the street in front of the hotel turns into small eating and drinking places at night. We loved it but others may not if they want quiet and solitude. Had no problem with noise in the rooms at night.
