This place was more than enough for our family of 5! We could have fit another family with us! Very clean, easy check in. The instructions on finding the place were spot on. We would definitely stay here again!
This home is absolutely fantastic with beautiful, lush property and clean, comfortable house with everything we could possibly need. I willl definitely stay here again.
Lovely private property surrounded by the lushness of Hana
Our family stayed two nights and enjoyed the home and the grounds. Just outside town and very close to Wainapanapa State Park, the home was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed games on the deck, dinner at the dining table looking out at the ocean, and a few oranges and tangerines from the numerous trees on the property. Robin and Brad were extremely responsive and provided detailed information. Would highly recommend this quiet location in Hana.
It's beautiful house! And is close to black beach. We enjoyed our stay there. The only inconvenience is the wifi in that area was often disrupted, on and off. On the first day there was no wifi for the whole day, which we were told due to the disconnection issue of the whole area.

We had to leave the windows open and use fans because the house did get a bit stuffy. Because of the open windows, bugs find ways to draw themselves inside the house. I understand that the bugs are quite inevitable when it comes to the tropical weather and where the house is located. Hopefully, an AC might help with that in the future.
Other than that, the tropical views around the home are stunning and beautiful, especially during the sunrise and sunset. The exterior of the house is very pretty. It's very charming when you turn on the lights outside the deck at night. Overall, the house is cozy. The hosts (Brad and Robin) are also efficient at communicating and answering my questions. We had a great time in Hana. Driving along Hana road and through the jungle and green mountains is such a breathtaking and unique experience. Mahalo Brad and Robin!
beautiful and safe location. spacious so very good for families and friends. Full kitchen is nice and stocked with all that u might need which was very useful to cook in since Hana is mainly food trucks.
We found the cottage to be just as described. The photos also are accurate. The home to us had the feel of Aloha! Beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Location is idea to explore the community without the rush.
Our stay was lovely! The house was clean, contained everything we needed and was in a perfect location. The house itself was private, but close to everything in Hana. We comfortably slept our family of five and used it as a home base for our daily swimming & hiking adventures. We are grateful to the owners for sharing their piece of paradise with us!
Pictures don’t do this house justice!! Wind flows through with a wonderful breeze. The beds are very comfortable and the couch feels like your lying on pillows. Large unoccupied area around the house provides privacy. I will definitely be booking in the future. Thanks for sharing your amazing property.
Astounding. Huge private space covered in lime, orange, banana and coconut trees. View of the ocean from the lanai. Much bigger and more accommodating than anticipated. You could feel the love in this house. We were comfortable and the kids loved it.
My husband, 8 and 5 yo daughters, and MIL stayed here for one night to break up our self-guided reverse road to Hana drive. It's a charming house on very large, beautiful grounds. It feels like you are staying in a botanical garden!
It's located just a 5-8 minute drive from the dining and Hana sights. So we were able to wake up and be some of the first people at Waianapanapa State Park to enjoy everything without crowds.
It cools down very nicely with the fans.
The owners responded to my texts within minutes and we're very gracious.
My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for four nights and could not have been happier with this outstanding property!!
The views and fruit trees were amazing! It was so quiet and peaceful. You could only hear the birds and light rain!
We walked around the grounds and took in the beauty daily. We hope to be lucky enough to return soon!!
We did not see any bugs and the house was very clean. Great beds.
Mahalo! Carolyn.

Hard to find; Not much to do
After staying here, we realized why most people take the road to Hana and go back the same day: Virtually no amenities in Hana. We had trouble even finding food. Even the food trucks were closed! Finding the property was also difficult. We turned on the right driveway, but then there is a fork with no directions. The fork on the right goes down an unmaintained goat trail don't go that way. Signs are pretty cheap - put up a sign please! The property itself is wonderful, but since the location is bad due to lack of amenities, this property it WAY over priced.
We came in at night and although we found the property I would recommend making sure you get there before sunset. Although I was aware there was no air conditioning, I still think the house could have easily been cooler and more enjoyable if there were fully functioning ceiling fans and floor fans in each room.
Be prepared for bugs, you are in the tropics. Lizards, cockroaches, spiders, ants, MOSQUITOS etc.
The fruit trees are nice if you are lucky to come at the right time. When home, we spent as much time as we could on the lanai due to the heat. While I didn't hate this property, I would not return. Between the heat and the extra guests of the non-human variety, and the time it took us to actually get to the town of Hana- I would look for another property.

Decent but overpriced
As other reviewers have mentioned, the property is difficult to find. The host provides detailed directions, but the referenced mile markers didn’t exist and you need to know EXACTLY what you’re looking for if you’re going to find this home. We loved the charm and simplicity, but overall the home just didn’t live up to the hefty price. You’re not within safe walking distance to anything in Hana. It didn’t feel clean, as there were bugs, alive and dead, everywhere - along with other little critters running around in the house. I guess all of this is expected since there’s no AC and all the windows have to be left open all day/night. While the property is beautiful and lush, the ocean is barely viewable in the very far distance over the trees.
We had very high hopes, but this rental was a bit of a letdown based on what we paid to stay. .
