Compass Barn, Wenhaston
Compass Barn is a charming one bedroom former Coach House in the quaint village of Wenhaston. This holiday cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard to provide light, bright, comfortable accommodation for a couple or a single person. It sits in a wonderful rural spot, ideal for exploring the Suffolk coast and countryside, with an old-fashioned English country pub less than a mile away.
You’re welcomed into the charming open plan living space with some exposed beams, a two seater sofa, armchair, TV and DVD player. The dining area has a dining table with 4 chairs should you wish to dine in. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, free standing mini fridge / freezer, built in dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother.
Off the living area, you step down into the spacious light and airy bedroom with a king size bed, 2 bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe, dressing table, armchairs and trouser press. Windows look out to the garden at the front.
The bedroom leads into the generous sized chic modern bathroom. There is a WC, 2 “his” and “her” sinks with drawers and cupboards under, a shaving mirror and a large walk-in power shower. There is also a heated towel rail.
There is a walk in cupboard in the bathroom where the washing machine is stored.
Outside there is a paved seating area, one just outside the front door and another to the left of the cottage with table and chairs, either being the perfect spot to dine al fresco or simply, enjoy a glass of wine and soak up the sun. The rest of the large garden surrounding the cottage is mainly laid to lawn with some shrubs and trees, along with a small wildlife pond.
There is off road parking for one car
Wenhaston is a pretty village surrounded by Suffolk countryside – great for cycling and walking, with seaside Dunwich and Walberswick (delightful for crabbing) 5 miles away and popular Southwold 7 miles away. Also, a short drive away is Minsmere RSPB reserve and Snape Maltings with its year-round programme of music, art exhibitions, restaurants and craft shops. There are 2 pubs nearby and a village shop for daily essentials
There is a regular bus service to Southwold and Halesworth if you do not want to drive.
