Welcome to Far Reach II, your dream escape in Gulf Shores! This beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom beachfront home is nestled directly on the Gulf of Mexico in the desirable West Beach area. With private boardwalk access to the soft white sands and sweeping Gulf views from the expansive back deck, this home offers the perfect balance of serenity and sunshine. Unwind on the covered swing as the waves roll in, or enjoy dinner with the sound of the surf as your backdrop.

The primary suite is a relaxing retreat with a queen bed, flat-screen TV, and gorgeous views of Little Lagoon. The ensuite bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower. The second and third bedrooms each include a full bed, and the fourth bedroom is ideal for kids or groups with two twin-over-twin bunk beds. A sleeper sofa in the living area provides additional space, allowing up to 12 guests to sleep comfortably. The open-concept living and kitchen area features high ceilings, a flat-screen TV, a full-size washer and dryer, and everything you need to feel at home—including wireless internet throughout the property.

This property is a bit dated but very clean and the location is perfect! On the beach with a private walkway to the sand. Beautiful porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Perfect location for a relaxing long weekend!

We had a wonderful stay. Pictures were very accurate. Check-in and out was about as easy as it could be. Was there things that could be fixed/upgraded? Sure, but nothing that would warrant me deducting points. If we decide on Gulf Shores in the future, we'll definitely choose Far Reach again.

Needs to be repaired and cleaned and mattresses in 1st BR on R, as noted in another review by renter. Deck is in my opinion unsafe and an accident waiting to happen along with rails around it. House did not have TV in all BR as in pics only 1. Maybe someone should go there and compare what is there and condition and cleanliness as opposed to what is written in description vs what the pictures show .I have more pics. I don't know if VRBO or VHC is to blame but I deserve a refund at least partial. VHC was made aware of several issues including the deck. They sent a woman to clean fans and

Lovely home, enjoyed the beach, view from the living room, swing under the porch, and boardwalk! We also enjoyed the puzzles and Family Jeopardy game in the home during the evening times. There are so many shops, good food, and fun activities nearby. We did Pirate mini golf, indoor Jurassic Mini Golf, TCBY, Mike’s (food), the Sunliner Diner, and others. I was surprised to have only one dish towel provided (we went through many paper towels as a result) and had to buy a few other kitchen items I use daily. Next time I’ll think through my usual habits and inquire specifically ahead of time to plan accordingly. I think if the home had a couple of additional items for supreme comfort (throws and blankets, a few more games, a guest profile on Disney/Netflix, a few additional dish towels and things like a peeler and chip clips), that would have been superb. As it is, the home was a gem given its price and location. We had a wonderful week of family fun at Gulf Shores!!

Excellent location and clean. Only complaint was the bed in Bedroom 1. Both my wife and I had a hard time sleeping and had sore backs. Besides what is was a 5 star.

Family vacay

2nd time staying here. We opted to stay here this year after a great time last year. Love the location of the house and everything about it. Minor updates needed. The only complaint we had really is the pipe of dredged material being discharged our last two days but we knew it was there and that's out of the hands of the property owner. Perfect place for the perfect vacation

Not what you pay for.

The location was fine, but the house is beyond outdated. It could really use a fresh coat of paint as well as new decking on the balcony. The balcony handrails are flimsy and should not be trusted. The stairs leading up to the entry door were very steep and lack handrails on both sides. We had two people in our party that really needed extra support to get up and down the stairs. Floor tiles are cracked and rooms are very small. The beds are horrible and should have been replaced years ago. No one in my party got a decent night sleep on these beds. Some actually bought air mattresses just to make it through. The check in and out process was easy, however it seems like check in times keep getting later and check out times keep getting earlier (but i guess that's true everywhere). Overall, location was fine, but wouldn't recommend to others based on my experience for the price. 2-1/2 stars just because check in and out was easy.

Reviews are worth what you pay for them, including this one so please take with a grain of salt. My goal is not to influence you to book or not book this home, but to inform you of what to expect if you do. We have taken our family to the beach the day after Christmas for several years. On this trip there was 10 of us counting husbands, fiancées, girlfriends, and boyfriends. 2 more of us could not make it this year due to a conflicting trip. Now that our family has grown up, it is difficult for us all to get together. This is the reason we go to the beach, to spend time together as a family. The good. The house was clean. The communication was good. Arrival and entry were easy. The location is good. Now the bad. This house does not sleep 12, not comfortably. Not close. The only way it would work is if your party had lots of children who didn’t care where they slept. We did not have small children and remember, there was 10 of us, not 12. The day after we arrived, the next morning, we scrambled and leased another home (condo) so we would have enough room for everyone. Ouch! So, some of us stayed at this house and some stayed at the condo. Not ideal for what we were planning. Something else you should know. The beach has experienced serious erosion so there wasn’t a beach. The leasing agency has nothing to do with this but think It’s something you should know. We are a very active family and like to play games on the beach while we’re there. There was hardly anywhere to place a chair. Also, because of the erosion, getting down to the beach was a real challenge. You must be able to scale the dune which is steep. An elderly person or someone with limited physical ability would have a difficult time doing this. Lastly, this rental is a down and dirty, no-frills rental. The agency will send you a list of things that you need to bring with you if you lease it. Pay attention to that list, they are not joking. We had one wash cloth when we arrived. Again, the agency, I think, said this but I didn’t believe they were serious. They were. Also, if you want to hang any of your cloths, bring clothes hangers. Overall, I would give this place about a 2 star. Primarily due to how uncomfortable it was for 10 people. We would not lease this home again. Remember, reviews are very subjective. You may go and wonder what the heck that guy was complaining about. I hope that’s the case. I just wished someone else would have written this before me.

Uncomfortable Beds

Good location. Place was clean. Unfortunately the beds are really old and worn out. Very saggy and uncomfortable. Reached out before our stay based on other reviews and after our first night. The owners don't care enough to replace the uncomfortable mattresses. The place overall is getting beat up. Broken tiles. Finish flaking off cabinets. Carpet well worn and kinda dingy. They also need to clean out the grills. They were packed full of old charcoal. Not fun to do.

As advertised

So let's keep in mind the importance of location location location. We stayed a full week and as the previous reviews said the beds were the topic of conversation. Couple of the beds were softer than the main bed. Would definitely consider dropping 100 or 200 bucks of the 2+k we spent for a pillow topper for the master...a simple fix that will go a long way. 1st bathroom needs a stopper for the tub but not a big deal unless your wanting to bath toddlers who spent time on the beach. Had most everything we needed to cook meals and eat with. There are 2 walmart grills downstairs and traditional coffee pot for filters however no beach toys or chairs so bring your own. Also towels are limited for a larger family. Could use a bit of updating for those that see it as an issue. Other than that, we spent alot of time on the balcony and yes, the walkway is mere feet from a mostly uninhabited beach. Overall, we enjoyed our stay with just the one exception of the master bed being uncomfortable to sleep on.

Great stay for families. Plenty of sleeping space and 2 full bathrooms. Easy beach access. Away from the more busy areas of the beach. Short drive to food and shopping.

Had an amazing time at the beach. The beach was very peaceful and family friendly. Location of the house was perfect with very short pier private access to the beach. The beds were not comfortable but the space and location was good 👍🏼

We had a wonderful stay!

The property was very nice and we loved being right now the beach! It was not very busy, we had lots of space on the beach for fun, and could walk back into the house whenever we wanted. What a relaxing way to spend a beach long weekend! We had a great time and would stay here again.
