Top Gulf Coast of Mexico Hotel Reviews

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen Adults Only All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This was my first trip to mexico and my first tropical vacation in life.
I feel obligated to provide a detailed review as this venue was so awesome, and exceeded my expectations in every possible way!
I stayed for 9 nights Feb 20-March 1st, excellent time of year even though the seaweed decided to start coming early in 2026.
Staff:
The staff is both professional and pleasant, they are knowledgeable in their respective roles and always friendly. They make a pleasant hand gesture and cover their hearts when greeting you, it feels very welcoming and I'm appreciative. The bartenders are well versed and happy to put together special requests if they are unfamiliar. The chefs are happy and awesome, even the cleaning staff was pleasant and helpful and I like how you get a little card explaining who will be taling care of your cleaning services for your stay.
Food:
The buffets are fully stacked with many options at every meal and customizations are endless. The restaurants are all great, many options at the Italian restaurant in particular. There were also many vegetarian options in each area, and im pretty sure they can/do accommodate other dietary requirements. The abundance of fresh fruit 24/7 was so very appreciated. The fruit at the buffets was amazing, and you can always pick up a fresh fruit cup in the grab and go cafeteria.

Sunscape Cancun All-Inclusive Resort & Spa by Hyatt
10/10 Excellent
"Bar area too loud and bad acoustics. I would’ve thought with all the English speaking guest that their music selection would’ve been more geared to the English language. Food was fantastic, the taco bar by the main pool was great for a midday snack. The burgers by the kids pool was very tasteful. Wife loved the coffee shop with its pastries and sandwiches. The ice cream shop was great except for its location. The pool was too small when they’re doing entertainment in the pool, such as volleyball, aerobics. The beach was awesome and well kept. The placement of the cabanas by the pool we thought was positioned poor for the rest of the guest that did not have a cabana. Overall, I would recommend this resort for a couples or family getaway. Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort
8/10 Good
"There wasn't a lot to do at the resort, our teenagers got bored quickly. Overall we did love the resort though. Fantastic service, very clean. Felt like a luxury resort. Dining hall could have used more vegetarian options. If you have allergies they ask when going into the restaurant but then never help you stear clear of things you shouldn't eat, so I'm not even sure why they ask. Overall it was a great stay and we did enjoy ourselves. "

The Westin Resort & Spa, Cancun
10/10 Excellent
"The entire resort was lovely. Our room was beautiful and peaceful, and the staff were amazing. On our last day there was a glitch with our check out time and the concierge desk did everythi they coudd to accomodate us."

GR Solaris Cancun & Spa - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Great hotel for the price. Food was really good with plenty of meat options and seafood days. The main restaurant almost never closes, and even during breaks you can grab snacks by the pool. There are usually lines, but the staff works fast and really tries to keep things moving.
You can book 3 à la carte restaurants — the Mediterranean was the best for us. The Japanese and Mexican were just okay.
Drinks are good overall, with a nice all‑inclusive selection. The coffee shop opens at 6 AM which is great if you're leaving early, but the coffee itself is very weak — more like coffee‑flavored water.
Beach is nice with strong waves and a bit of a pull near the shore, but farther out there’s a shallow sandbank where it’s calmer and fun to swim.
Entertainment is solid: activities by the pool during the day, and evening shows in the theater. The lobby bar has live music, karaoke, etc.
Our room was spacious with a pool/sea view, but a bit aged. We were near the floor’s water filtration system, which hummed loudly at night. Strong wind also made the ceiling vent rattle unless the balcony was closed.
Spa was clean and relaxing with a good massage. There’s a bus stop right outside, very convenient.
Overall: a very good value for what you pay."

Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas - Adults Only- All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This was one of the best resorts I’ve stayed. The whole place was immaculately clean. Staff was amazing. Food was great. Service was above and beyond. "

Ocean Riviera Paradise All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This resort is beautiful and has a lot of amenities including bowling, laser tag, tennis and pickleball courts, a batting cage and a water park for the kids. The wildlife here is amazing including monkeys, coatis, capybaras, iguanas, raccoons, a crocodile, deer and a couple of cats. The food was really good at all the restaurants and the buffet. They have a juice bar near the beach pool which makes fresh juice everyday. Mike’s coffeehouse has the best cafe options including cappuccinos, lattes (both cold and hot), teas and delicious desserts. We literally went there everyday some times twice a day it was soo good. We found the nightlife was a bit of a disappointment with everything wrapping up by around 10:30 -11:00pm. The rooms are very clean and the cleaning staff work very hard to keep everything clean. The one thing I wasn’t a fan of was the design of the bathroom. The shower and toilet are separated but there is no real privacy when using the toilet. Also, the bathtub in our room had rust and didn’t really work but that was fine as we just used the shower everyday which always had steaming hot water and the water pressure was good. The bed was comfortable and there’s was a lot of room in our room. Our minifridge was restocked everyday and we had asked for extra water and they always gave it to us. The drinks at the swim up bars were really good and all the bar tenders were nice and friendly. I would definitely go back to this resort. "

Seadust Cancún All Inclusive Family Resort
2/10 Terrible
"Where do I even begin? This resort fell embarrassingly short of what it advertises. The rooms were filthy — not “needs a touch-up” dirty, but genuinely neglected. The staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, acting as if guests were an inconvenience rather than the reason they have jobs. For a place that markets itself as “family-friendly,” it was anything but — zero consideration for families with young children.
The beach, which should be the highlight of any resort stay, was littered with trash. It was genuinely embarrassing. We paid good money to vacation at what turned out to be an overpriced disappointment at every single turn.
Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else. This place is not worth your time, your money, or your vacation days."
