"The cottage was SO cozy and rustic! The beds, sofas and all furniture were so much more comfortable than I anticipated. The host was absolutely lovely, we had a delightful stay!"

"This place was perfect for our group of 5 long time friends. We decided to explore the Lake Charles area. Communication with the owners was smooth, and they responded quickly and with complete answers & suggestions. Check in and check out processes were simple and easy. The location was about 30 minutes from downtown, but totally worth it for the amazing sunsets. The only possible drawback (which was out of anyone's control) was the swing bridge which caught us just a couple of times. Big barges are not fast. The house was on the east side of Lake Calcasieu. The neighborhood was quiet and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.The house was set up comfortably and had all we needed. Good kitchen layout with a table. We all cook and never got in each other's way. It had everything we needed. Had a great sitting area adjacent. Patio outside was just the right place to sit, have a glass of wine and watch the sunsets.I asked the owner for some local restaurant and shopping suggestions. Every suggestion was right on point! We actually think they should write for "Visit Lake Charles". Some favorites: Crave (olive oils, gourmet gifts), restaurants- Crying Eagle in Lakeshore, Luna, Darrell's for PoBoys, Steamboat Bills. Our group was all women who were not there to fish, so I don't have any info on that. There were cards for a fishing guide and I'm sure the owner could supply tips.We all would highly recommend staying here!"

"We went out to an event and electronic door. Lock would not open when we got back. We were outside in the heat for 30 minutes until the maintenance guy came to let us in. Wasn’t enough towels for everyone other than that great place."

"Acadiana holds a special place in our heart. We found the perfect getaway with the most beautiful atmosphere with old moss draped majestic oaks, the Mermentau River on site and a very caring owner Brad. We rented Anchors Away and it had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the covered dock for Happy Hour and having our coffee on the screened patio. The place was as described, and decorated in a cute nautical theme. It was so peaceful watching the fish jumping and birds flying around. Brad has a dock and it was fun watching the boats go up and down the river. C’est Bon is a great family owned Cajun restaurant, very low key and is just around the corner. The food was very good. We do plan to return again perhaps in the fall or spring."
