"The room was perfect you functional but the bathroom was petite. The room was very stuffy with no air-conditioning, a bearly openable window. A fan would have helped enormously."

"A short overnight stay. Welcome was as expected. Car park was full so we had to pay to park on the road which was annoying. Room was clean and well equipped. Shower did not drain properly so you had to wash quickly! Some aspects of the repairs/maintenance were tired and not what you would expect from a 4* stay - but perhaps standards are lower these days?!"

"Unfortunately it was a very hot time when we visited which meant the rooms were extremely hot - even with the fan provided. I appreciate that the hotel could not do much else to change this, apart from a large scale air con installation which would be a large undertaking. Breakfast was a little lacking in quality - although the options were suitable it was a little tired when selecting food items - both mornings we were down between 8-8.30 and the hot buffet looked like it had been out some time and the quality of the product was therefore disappointing. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There has clearly been improvements made to freshen the hotel up and it felt clean and bright despite it being an older building. We did not use any of the other hotel facilities to be able to comment. Parking was not really viable at the hotel however we found the car park multi storey at the back and towards the seafront - operated by gunwharf very good and reasonably priced. I would return - just hope the bfast would be ok!"

"Spacious room with clean linen. Overall a bit tired but good atmosphere. Did a decent packed breakfast as we left for an early ferry. Excellent location for the quayside Wharf and historic dockyard. I would stay there again. Free on site parking a definite bonus."

"Property need maintenance floor ve deep dip hiding and covering with carpet near dinning area i was about to tripped furniture snd fan was wobbly however it was ok for one night stay. We had good sleep peaceful area."

"Great big house in a good location, close to shops and marina. Lovely and quiet. Had all the amenities you needed including big fridge/freezer, big beds, large dining area, washing machine, plenty of bathrooms, plenty parking space and a lovely private garden space for a hot tub rental.Our host was great and had the accommodation ready for us at our planned arrival time. We enjoyed our stay for the week and would recommend it to anyone coming to the solent."
