This was our first time here and had a fabulous experience. Location right off the Ohio River, walking paths, excellent views, and privacy. Everything we needed to unplug.Wish we had found this place 15 years ago!

Definitely need some updates, which you mentioned. An acess from the balcony going down, instead of going out the front door. Especially when grilling.

I was looking forward to a peaceful retreat and appreciated the host’s responsiveness before the trip. Check-in was easy, and the property’s concept seemed promising. Unfortunately, the cabin itself was in unacceptable condition.Upon arrival, I found cobwebs inside and outside the cabin, with the front door covered in dead bugs. There was a large stain on the blanket, and loose rat poison stored in the kitchen cabinet next to cooking and eating supplies. I also discovered mouse droppings on the kitchen and pantry floors, and a dead bug inside the oven. The secondary lock was broken, the railing was wobbly and falling apart, and the listing photos showed a couch that was not present in the cabin.To make matters worse, I was not warned about the severe potholes leading to the property. While the host was very communicative prior to my arrival, they did not respond to my calls or to VRBO support once I was on-site.As a solo female traveler with asthma, I did not feel safe or comfortable staying in these conditions. I had to leave early and find alternate accommodations due to health concerns. Although I received a partial refund, I strongly believe a full refund was warranted given the circumstances.

We had a great stay. The place was very clean and comfortable. The beds were so nice. Our favorite was sitting out on the deck overlooking the river. It was a peaceful getaway. We were even able to take a short trail down to the river. I highly recommend a stay here.

On the Ohio River.

Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Simply appointed and has necessities. Quiet area directly on the Ohio River, not far from Garden of the Gods. About thirty minutes from Harrisburg. We drove in and ate at Morello's one day and The BBQ Barn on another day. Both good choices.

Door and locks bad. Curtain doesn't cover window. Ants in cabin. Refrigerator opens wron way which meens you have to squeeze by stove (caused burners to be turned on not safe). Needs onstite personal to address issues.

Fun weekend

This is such a beautiful property. Its right on the river and the firepit outside was awesome. Walking trails and not too far from great hiking! We really enjoyed time. We will be going back and we would definitely recommend this resort!

It was beautiful and peaceful! It was just the get away i needed from the hustle and bustle of work life. Close to the hiking that i wanted to do, but not close to anything that was a distra tion from the peace.

Great peaceful getaway

Older but very clean property. All units face the river. I wanted a peaceful atmosphere to reset from a loss. It provided me that. If you love to hike this place provides a great home base. If you want shopping and restaurants it does not. The WiFi was non existent don't know why there was a TV in the room. Great value otherwise.

Nice place near the Garden of the Gods

We enjoyed the waterfront view from our patio and watching the tug boats moving the barges. The place could use a few updates but for the price, location and waterfront view it was a nice place to stay after hiking at the Garden of the Gods. Likely my oversight but I also didn't realize the cabins weren't stand alone units. Our building had (4) units. Luckily the time of year we visited we were the only people in our building but if you are there during a busy time it might not be as nice sitting on the patio with your neighbors right next to you. At the end of the evening we wanted to wind down watching TV and did have some trouble getting the Roku TV to work but the hosts were quick to respond to my text and helped me resolve the issue. If you want a quiet place close to the Garden of Gods I would recommend this location.

Location, location, location!

We had a lovely 3 night stay at The San Damiano! We did some hiking in The Shawnee National Forest and chose this on VRBO as it was 25-50 minutes from everything we wanted to see! The location was so gorgeous, we could have spent the entire time on the back porch enjoying the view! Thank you so much, everything was wonderful!

Enjoyed watching the cows across the river graze and wade!

A flock of white pelican’s gracefully landed in front of us and then float down the river!

20th Wedding Anniversary

This was the best rental we have ever had. The cabin unit was fantastic. Because it was an anniversary, we wanted some place private and quiet. Here we got both. Watching the barges on the river, was so much fun. We got to hike,and even played horseshoes. Just make sure you take food with you,because nearest restaurant is 10 miles from cabin. Hope to come back again.

The cabin was bigger than i thought and had a full kitchen. The back deck had an amazing view but would have been better if it had steps to the firepit. We just had to walk around from the front. The galley style kitchen had a big fridge and gas stove, both nice stainless steel but needed a light over the stove. Could use an upgrade on the coffee maker but it worked and we thoroughly enjoyed having coffebon the deck. The room was big with 2 queen sized beds but the matresses could use an upgrade. Loved the soft blankets on the bed and there were lots of pillows which i loved. The tub was huge and the jets were very powerful. It could use a bigger hot water heater or maybe a tankless one. I still spent like an hour soaking in it. Lots of hiking just steps outside. Great value for the money we paid. I also like that they give any food you leave to an organization for the homeless. Im always up for giving back. My sister and I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
